I own the 2020 4.5 gen and like it more than any of the previous generations. I have owned a 2006, 2010, 2016 and 2018 and now my 2020 which is the best.
To be clear...my daily driver is a 2015 Prius IV, but drive my 2019 Corvette ZR1, 3ZR, ZTK, A8 quite a lot. Every tool in my box serves a different purpose. That said, Toyota better fix the "look" of their upcoming Prius models or I will rotate out when the 2015 is replaced.
Were you in ECO mode, that'll make make for maddeningly passive-aggressive throttle response, harder to modulate. I stick with "regular" (neither ECO nor PWR). I understand with 4th Gen the three modes have all been shifted, roughly one mode, in the direction of PWR?
Mendel: I have compared gen 2, 3, and 4, and yes, always using the "ECO" mode. In the 2 and 3, I found it very uncomfortable, having to push the go pedal halfway down prior to any response. What you're saying makes sense, because the "ECO" mode in the gen 4 feels like a normal throttle. I never use either "regular" or "power."
I especially like keeping the Prime in ECO when at low speeds. Much finer control of the m/kWh indicator.
