As long as you brought up what GM was doing during the 20's thru the 50's, what exactly was Toyota doing? Oh, that hurts. The worst part is that Toyota hasfound are collective weakness, our attention span. We don't have the time or inclination to investigate on our own, Wal-Mart sells only American products, Toyota is green ,we just accept it and start believing it. Some of you know better, but I would be willing to bet that if I polled all of the posters on here the collective sense would be that Toyota is a net gain for the US economy.

That's funny. You must be one of those old timers who remember WWII and the only thing you take away from that is a hate everything Japanese... Way to point out how utterly spiteful you are.

It's funny how you b*tch and moan about Toyota taking over the world, while in all other corners of the planet, the biggest scourge is *AMERICAN* globalization. So globalization is fine as long as it's the US that's doing the globalizing?

When another country steps on our toes and starts globalizing us, they're evil now?

    Bud,
I,m less than 35 years old, and someone up brought up the past, so I just replied. It's ok to talk about what GM used to do but not Toyota?

You're the who implied a connection to Japan in WWII to Toyota, as if that's relevant.

Laughing Man, have you ever given it any thought of what will happen if/when GM and Ford go belly up? Probabaility is between 40 and 60 % that one of them goes away.

Have you ever thought that maybe that's their own fault? Whatever happened to the American idea of personal responsibility. If GM goes under, it's probably because they did it to themselves, and couldn't dig themselves out of the rut that they were in.

Of course I the trend that GM is becoming a waning star... I'm of the opinion that their own doom was spelled out when they stubbornly decided to keep pushing SUVs instead of diversifying their fleet... thus, when September and two hurricanes rolled in, they were screwed...

Toyota diversified their fleet... and were able to keep sales up in spite of all that. Does that make them evil and a huge conspiracy with the media to destroy America? NO... they're doing business... that's what America is about.

That's the dark side of the American economic system... sh*t happens. Look at the airlines. Two of the big ones filed for bankrupcy... is that somehow the fault of evil foreign economic powers like Toyota?

You have no idea how paranoid you sound do you?

In my case, I got a Toyota because it was a Prius, not a Prius because it was a Toyota.

My father owns a Studebaker, which is still better than a lot of cars I've seen. ;)

Because it sounds to me like you're blaming Toyota for the destruction of America.

    quotes like this :
Like I said before, are you wearing your tin foil hat?

Two vehicles, including the Mariner. Three when the Mazda hits the mix.

Four when the Fusion Hybrid hits the mix next year.

An admin must have closed it. Good. If that was you evan, good show!

Does anyone else agree with me that he sounds downright X-files conspiracy on the brain?

I love X-Files, but it's funny to see someone in real life.

Why are you so busy defending Toyota? How is Toyota helping the United States?
    Jobs?
    Taxes?
    Income?
    Environmentally(other than in relative terms)?

Nah it's alright. He was just answering a question Maytrix said about how many Ford hybrids there will be. I answered the Fusion a page back I think, but Johnny expanded on it.
