Smart Key Programming for 2010

I have no tools for programming a key fob.

 

There are many. Look on ebay and amazon. I couldn't get mine to work and had the place
I got it from spend about 3 hours screwing around with it to get it to work. Losedoz sucks!
techstream was so slow, and losedoz took forever to connect, it wasn't worth it any longer.
I was able to purchase the D8 for $450. It works quickly and very nicely. Well worth the money.

If you don't want to spend the money, contact a locksmith, or go to the toyota dealership.

 

i'm looking for the best value here. please let me know what that is.

 

i got a quote for $100 to program my prius fob but if i can buy the software and a cable for my laptop for cheaper i'll do it myself.

 

will someone let me know if this software and cable will work to program my 2010 prius fob? here's the link . https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256806794117309.html?src=google&gatewayAdapt=glo2usa. this is a mini-vci software with cable. do i still need to buy the tech stream software or is it included with this item? I'm new with this stuff and don't know what i need exactly.

Only YOU can say which is best for you. Getting the pirates software MAY or may not work.
Most pirated sellers include the cable. Which may or may not work for the keyfob programing.
It works for some, and not for others. It is up to YOU to decide to take the chance.
With the D8, it's NOT pirated. And everything works. So in the future when you have
other issues, You can use the D8 and it will work.

Me personally, I'm tired of stuff that doesn't work. My time is more valuable. And piece of mind.

 

The Techstream software is included with the cable that you linked to. The biggest problem is getting the 64-bit driver for the cable to work on a Windows 64-bit computer without getting virus warnings. Most people do not get Techstream working after they try to install it. There is also a large learning curve to use the Techstream software.

I have never tried to use Techstrean to add a fob to a Prius, so I can not tell you if it will work or not.

Only you can decide if it is worth 4 to 12 hours of your time to get Techstream installed and working on your computer versus the $100 fee for the locksmith to do the job.

 

brian. this seller sends all the instructions to program the key so i will give it a try.

 

i already got my wifes key cut and programmed at the price i mentioned.

chaz, what else do you need besides the mongoose cable & software to program a new key? i just bought a cable with techstream software and the seller of my new fob says that techstream will not work with my key. i have a laptop with techstream installed and ready to go.

 

chazz, do i need a programming tool or just laptop and software?
