There have been lots of reports here of the covers coming off, just from something like going through a car wash.

It might be good to remove the cover, put a few dabs of silicone caulk on, and push it back on. Not enough that it's glued-on, but to keep it a little more secure.

When Gen 4 first came out, there were a few posts in relation to them having fallen out - the first couple were at CarWashes. And a few solutions - but I don't think it was covered by warranty if they went missing.

I have seen many Gen 4 out on the road with missing tow covers. Fortunately, mine have stayed put...

The car in the ad is definitely a Two Eco. No rear wiper. (unless it was removed)

I looked up the 2016 brochure. It had the same cloth seats as the Two. So the Softex seats in the rest of the car are a mystery to me. Or maybe they are leather covered.

I believe I would not bite on that one either with the unresolved hybrid error. No reason for that when it's under warranty. And if it has errors, they need to be disclosed and the price adjusted accordingly.

Under warranty unless it has a salvage title.

Let's see. Mismatched seats. A missing tow eye cover. Incongruous readings on the displays. I'd RUN, not walk, away from this car. I'm thinking major wreck repaired, and perhaps some title laundering as well. With the airbag issues lurking, seat tinkering is a big deal. Lots of places that used to do aftermarket leather won't anymore because of this liability source. Perhaps driver's seat had bags fire in the wreck, and replacement seat hasn't been "leatherized." And no way to tell if the leatherized seats are safe from an airbag perspective. Never mind that the mismatch looks ghastly.

Missing tow eye cover. Why does anyone remove the tow eye cover? Are there any remotely "good" answers to this question?

And the display readings! No, I wouldn't even think about that car until all displays read correctly (including TPMS), AND I'd taken it to a Toyota dealer and had them run a full inspection on it -- physically and plugged in as well.

There are just too many other good choices out there that won't come with all the questions, bizarre questions, that this car presents.

Well at least this one: yes. They fall off easy, say in car wash. Apparently replacement covers are primed only? That's a pain.

I remember hearing about them falling off on the early 2016s. My 2017 has been fine, though.

OK, no contest on that one. I've just not seen it before myself. At any rate, when you put that together with other snippets of info that strongly suggest "bad accident" I'm all the more concerned. And seriously, you'd think a dealer who really wants to move the car would go get the ~$15 part, spray paint it if nothing else, and slap it in place. I've seen and heard of "motivated" used car people getting a lot more creative. We'll never know, but I'd sure like to find out what the used car dealer paid for that Prius at auction.

    Edited for typo.
