Has anyone plasti-dipped the alloys under the hubcaps?

Curious to see what they look like!

While I do believe they look good, this wheel & tire combo would be a mistake for a few reasons.

    1) These 18x8" Toyota OE wheels are very heavy.

    2) The matching 225/40-18 tires are (on average) heavy.

    3) Your total wheel & tire weight will be ~46 lbs to ~49 lbs.

    4) This represents roughly a ~40% to ~48% increase in unsprung weight over the stock OE 15" wheels and tires.

Was going to get a black one, but instead got my first choice which was BPW. Black was my 2nd choice. But with those wheels, ME LIKEY!! Very tasteful, I might add. What's the spec on it?

Maybe I missed it, but how are the RPF1s in 17x7 doing on MPG versus stock setups?

What is the MPG hit on the Corolla 18"s. I've been considering this setup for a few years now.

I put them on the 2nd day of owning the car so I’m not sure. In EV mode I still average 55+ mpg though

Hello, there is a hit to MPG efficiency hit due to tire size increase, loss of aero wheel covers, and the addition of an roof rack. But there is a slight gain to efficiency due to lighter wheels.

I did not perform any thorough MPG measurements. This is all just eyeballing things. Tires new will be less efficient than older tires too due to less tread on them and less rolling resistance.

The RPF1 17" wheels weigh around 15.6 lbs each. And the stock 15" OEM wheels with covers weigh around 16.5 lbs each. How much do stock wheels weigh? | PriusChat

There should be a slight gain in efficiency there due to a lighter wheel. However overall efficiency is a loss. The stock wheels come with an aero cover while the RPF1 do not. And the RPF1s are on 225mm size grippier tires while the stock tires are 195mm eco tires. So we are adding 4x30mm = 120mm or 4.7 inches more tire width worth of grip!!!

Efficiency from driving with just gas will average about 55 to 60 mpg with my current setup and is way worse than when I used to drive a 2016 Prius with the OEM 17" wheels on 215mm wide tires. I averaged 70 to 75 mpg on that setup.

If I combine EV with GAS and keep my trips less than 40 to 50 miles a day. I can achieve 90 to 96 MPG with my current setup. But it all depends on if I keep to city driving limits. If I take it up to the highway its 55 to 60 all the way.
