JC08 rated it at 85MPG. Prius C was rated at 83MPG. Pretty much a tie, but slightly better. Next-gen Honda Fit Hybrid could get 85 mpg in Japan
The 2012 and 2013 are basically the same. Just different years on the title. How much could the 2014 change from an already superb car?
The dealer I'm working with said they don't know of any major changes yet! I will be getting the car within the next week hopefully unless I need to order one to get exactly what I want! Now just gotta find the best price! That's for your help everyone!
That might be changing given Honda is moving off IMA to a new design. No real life numbers yet, but JC08 has shown great numbers. It's always good to have competitions. 2015 Prius might have a better design as well.
My hubby got the Prius V with Softex and has had our Great Dane puppy climbing all over them with no damage (yet). I have the cloth in my Prius C, and would be reluctant to have her in there.
definitely get the color you really want and anything else that's nagging at you. Don't "settle" on an in-stock color or feature and resent it for the next 5-10 years.
Automotive News says that Honda will probably not release a hybrid version of the hatchback pictured above to the U.S. However, the U.S. will likely receive a new Fit sedan and Fit-based small crossover with the hybrid drivetrain.
Question, you guys got me thinking? The only thing I did not like about the Prius C in that they are still using Nickel Metal Hydride batteries versus the lithium Cell Batteries. I like the Prius C but we have 2 Honda's now, a 2000 and 2001. Have had great luck with them. I will go to the Honda dealer now and see what info they have on it? I do like the Toyota Technology better as far as Hybrid design. Any guidance is appreciated.
I prefer the cloth seats rather than leather because leather seats tend to let yoiur butt slip in hard corners even wearing added comp belys to the standard belts and it duisconcerting to say the least . As far as dog proofing be sure to spray your uphostery with 3m's scotch gard. Works for grandkids as well.
Scotch Gard -woo - thanks. I forgot about that! Likely not so helpful against puppy nails, but definitely against the coffee I always seem to somehow spill...
Hondas are great cars and I wouldn't try to talk you one way or the other. But I would suggest to not let the battery-type be a part of your decision. Why? Because the type of battery is largely irrelevant as long as the "results" in terms of hybrid performance are admirable. And even with it's old-fashioned battery, the Prius C does great things with fuel economy. Lithium costs more and given the constant charging/draining of the hybrid battery, would have its own challenges to overcome as well. No silver bullet... like many things it's more about the implementation and the whole being greater than the sum of the parts versus an analysis of the "parts" individually.
Lithium Ion is a new tech. NiHM is tried and true... and it would have been more advanced, but some major corporations bought the patents on them and they haven't been able to do much with them *cough cough oil company cough cough*... that patent expires next year (if I remember correctly) so we should see big strides in NiHM as well as LiIon
I actually went with cloth in my Prius because of the dogs. With a Rottweiler, I'm more worried about a puncture than potential fur issues. In my Subaru with leather, dogs ride in the back.
