Dianne has been helpful to us for many years.

This special delivery was from her...

It was nice hunting down these long, lost photos. That was a good memory. My friend who bought that Blue Moon Classic has really enjoyed it, definitely a good move going through Dianne to get it.

The shipping itself went well, despite the cold homecoming which followed.

Look at how dirty my Prius was. How many minutes later do you think the other was still clean? I guess my plug-in will experience something similar. I'm ready. Bring it on Dianne!

Yep, that's a 1931 Model "A" Ford Five Window Coupe. Lots of those were made into the original "hot rods" by chopping the top down to skinny windows or completely off, no fenders, a V8 engine with smitty straight through mufflers, twin pipe exhaust, full wheel covers and white wall tires.

Right after the Second World War you could often buy one for $25.00 which made them good for the conversions.

The original drag races and dry lake speed runs were populated with these "rods".

Just wondering, as the picture isn't real clear on my PC, if it might be a '28 or '29? I'm going by what appears to be a shorter radiator shell and smaller hubcaps. Can't see enough of the fender apron to tell, nor can I see whether any portion of the radiator shell is painted or whether the Ford emblem is stainless or painted. I wouldn't bet money on it; I'm just using some of the hints I heard years ago to tell one from another when I had a '30 Sport Coupe, pictures of which I am using for comparison. Maybe the poster knows, since it was his father's car? :)

Now that you mention it, this might be earlier. The "31, at least some models, had parking lights mounted on the cowl on each side just under the windshield. On my browser, this looks like a chrome radiator not like the Model B.

Spiderman, I didn't have the write up link showing with the original picture, but when I clicked on the one you provided, I didn't find any reference to the year, just the same picture at the top of a page with a whole bunch of them.
Allannde, I think the radiator shells were nickle plated, with some years having a painted area at the top with the emblem centered.
Hey, what else have we got to do, anyway? :)
One thing we know for sure, it wasn't his father's Oldsmobile!

My first car was a 1933 Chev sedan so I have no "hands on" experience with a Model A. However, the Model A was as important a car as the Prius in its time. They were all over. Life was just as real in those days. For those who weren't there, it is just boring history. I'm sure that Spiderman was just having a little fun with that photograph.

Yeah, I was just having fun with the photo. Although my dad did have an A... I just don't remember the details.

Anyway, here is the name of the photo and where I got 1929:

Great looking car. But I can't quite make out the radiator emblem. Is it steam powered? I"m seeing hoses and what looks like some sort of tank/boiler.
