    Ninous26,

There's a reason why you only see the things you mentioned in Prius drivers. It's because all the safe, normal, perfectly sane drivers only choose Honda or another brand of Hybrid. Simple as that.

All the Prius drivers are misfits, erratic and illogical. Simple as that may seem.

My suggestion to you, is don't drive a Prius...EVER...!!
    Seriously...!
In fact, don't buy anything but a Honda or other Hybrid.

Better yet, is buy yourself a bicycle, since all of those traits and more is seen multiple thousands of times daily with all kinds of drivers in all kinds of vehicles.

What the heck's up with that graph? How did the U.S. imports spike upwards during the '70's and the Arab oil embargo? I would have expected to see the imports drop drastically and the domestic production rise to compensate because of the oil shortage. Not challenging your data, just looking for an explanation -- this doesn't make sense to me.

Don't take this the wrong way but Arizona has some of the worst drivers I have ever seen. Don't know if it's just all the snow birds but damn you people just can't drive.

Tony isn't a bad guy - even though he called me a Nazi in his first reply. The moderators and senior members just try to keep Priuschat a safe and courteous place. Most PC members take ninous' question as a polite challenge rather than a hate-spewing rant. Imagine Tony's post count having a period instead of a comma and it will make you feel better. :)

    Arizona and New Mexico.

I see a lot of Prii in NO VA and they all seem to drive normally. Personally, I would like to P&G but I won't/can't do it on I-95 because it is either too crowded or I don't want to drive in a fashion that seems erratic to those behind me.

Tony... Still sticking with the "benefit of the doubt" thing? :) Yeah, he started with a good line, and managed to stay calm for quite a while. And sure the natives were restless - but surprise! Peel back the skin, and look what we find.

I do not know. Just seems pretty obvious why he's here.

To everyone but the troll I would like to say I am sorry for my first post http://priuschat.com/forums/prius-m...s-drivers-what-wrong-you-guys.html#post650956 on this thread, I have been on PC long enough to know the rules and still I let my emotions dictate what I posted. Well I have edited that post (Thanks mods for removing offending words) and it is no longer offencive. To anyone I caused offence, sorry again.

Ninous26, did you sleep well under the bridge last night? I'm not trying to get under your skin, I ask out of genuine concern for your welfare.

Have you ever bought a car and then suddenly noticed how many of that make and model you see on the road? Did this surprise you?

The human mind is a powerful pattern recognition engine, but sometimes it tends to trick itself into noticing only particular patterns.

Confirmation bias may be at work in the mind of the OP. Having once decided that Prius drivers annoyed him, he may have slipped into the pattern of only recognizing those Prius drivers that do annoy him, while dismissing any that do not.

Persons driving a Prius are likely to be pre-selected for intelligence, and it may be that certain styles of driving are more clever, such as coasting to a stoplight while charging batteries.

I imagine that eventually the OP will get over it.

That's why you get up earlier and leave so you aren't in a hurry? And hey, I don't mind getting "stuck" behind a Prius going 35 mph :)

Try getting some information from actual people in the energy industry (like Boone Pickens) rather than radio talking heads. People keep talking about oil coming down and what is at today $137.XX?

I mean really, make up your mind, are Prius drivers driving to fast or to slow? Most Prius drivers aren't trying MPG experimenting techniques, unless you count slowing down at a redlight MPG experimenting. I would hazard a quess that not even half of PC members (who would be the atypical Prius driver) does things like P&G. Posts like this highlight why Prius drivers are hated, if they drive slow people complain, if they drive fast people complain. Methinks there are some confirmation biases like GreenSteve mentioned that Prius haters are falling into.

To quote Cyndi Lauper, "I see your true colors" as do other PC members and it didn't take very long to see your true intent.

We don't have a superiority complex, we are superior! (SMUG ALERT)

My major offenses are driving on battery when no one is behind me and coasting up to RED traffic lights.

Are you jealous that I'm not using ANY gas, while other drivers are doing that GAS, BRAKE, HONK thing! (obscure Simpson's reference).

I think many people feel bad that they made the wrong decision last time they bought a car!

Well, the first thing wrong with us is we don't know which stations have domestic oil. The second thing wrong with us is we don't live in Phoenix, which I guess would be really cool. Personally I would rather live S. Australia, but I settled for Sacramento. The third thing wrong with us is we don't (as you said) drive along computing our mpg's while doing a pulse and glide-the car actually calculates it for us. And the final thing that is wrong with us is that we don't like giving our money to Saudi Arabia, Iran, Russia, Venezuela, and Nigeria. You obviously do, so I'm sure Hugo Chavez thanks you and all the other geniuses who don't see a need to conserve oil. I'm sure you feel that we can't make a difference anyways, so why try. Well, when US consumption fell in the 70's, we had a decade in the 80's of very low gas prices which lulled us into having big gas guzzlers. Every time we lower our consumption, the Saudis crap their pants and try to find ways to lower prices. So we can make a difference. We take away our need for other countries oil, we take away their economies and their power. Much easier than going to war with them, and probably cheaper too.

Funny thing though, I read this thread and I am personally more irritated by the drivers in the big SUV's passing me on the freeway going 80 mph than by slow drivers, because who do they always have whining about gas prices on the news, SUV drivers who don't know how to do under 80 to save gas. Anyways, I come up on this lady in a Prius the other day, she's doing a pulse and glide on the freeway. So she floors it up to 70, then glides back to about 57, then starts the process over again. When I say "floors it", I mean she had to literally be flooring it. It is of course mid day and traffic was heavy. That is the first time I have ever seen a Prius driver that bad. I was trying to keep in the right lane at a steady speed, 60 in a 55 so that I didn't get run over. I finally got so pissed that I pulled around her and yelled out the window "You can't Pulse and Glide on the freeway you idiot." Maybe not totally true, but the way she was doing it was extremely unsafe and was not saving her any gas. So I guess, if these were the drivers I saw everyday in a Prius, I would agree with the original poster.
