Probiotics cover a wide range of foods, fermented foods (with particular bacteria or yeasts), and bacteria that are processed into spores which increases probability of the things you want getting past the stomach. pH about 2 bioreactor.
Align (TM) has 20 different names:
Align (Probiotic Capsules) Information - Drugs.com
which may all come from same company. do not know.

It is not the only bacterial strain that has probiotic effects:

Bifidobacteria and Their Role as Members of the Human Gut Microbiota - PMC
Beneficial effects of Bifidobacterium longum subsp. longum BB536 on human health: Modulation of gut microbiome as the principal action - ScienceDirect

I have no personal experience with this probiotic. Even if I did, it would not constitute basis for recommendation. If the topic interests you, dig in and benefits may follow.

"Immunity is in the gut." Calls for standard lecture. Immune cells are present in all bodily tissues. Otherwise it would be "See ya later", and evolutionarily maladaptive strategy.

Skin surface area is about 1.5 sq meters obviously exposed to elsewhere, and so dermis has a lot of immune action. Gastrointestinal (GI) tract has about 10 times more surface area 'exposed'. Big immune action there. Pulmonary (P) system has about 100 times skin surface area, so immune plays to win there especially.

GI and P interestingly differ. Human digestion relies a lot on bacterial help, so immune system in GI needs to 'let some things be'. Probiotics writ large are involved in training. Unaware of any bacterial (fungal etc) helpers in P system, and there, our army of 20-micron immunistas is cranky as all get-out. Splains a lotta things.

Allergies indicate too-cranky immunistas. There are food allergies and the quaint term "hay fever" involved. They can be unpleasant, but having a too-relaxed immune system (anywhere) is a ticket to "See ya later". A bit of over reaction may be forgiven?

    ==
Separate but related, a bonus comment on nostrums 'promoting immune-system health'. While this is clearly needed, tinkering with immunistas around the edges presumes complete knowledge of how all that works (everywhere and in complete detail). I do not have such knowledge and I know of no qualified medical practitioner who claims to have. So nostrums look like a dark gray zone, while probiotics offer more promise.

I was reading an article about the relationship between the immune system and chronic inflammation.
Seems to be a cause of many diseases.
Diet and lifestyle can play a big part, but new farma is on the way to help.
LDL cholesterol (bad) was shown in a study of heart attacks to be only 50% of the participants

Since I suffer from hypertension many articles I have read note that Hypertension has exploded in the last 10 years especially in the US.. And hardening of the artery's.

American's lead a very heavy salt & sugar laden diet. Soaked in hydrogenated oil. Incredibly inflammatory. It make everything very tasty and makes us very fat. Anything you buy at Fast food or places like Starbucks etc is 100% hydrogenated oil and the worse thing you can ever put in your body. If it tastes smooth to your tongue that's hydrogenated oil.

We are a very fat culture. Sooner or later you have to pay the bill. I have a pretty restricted diet it really really sucks but beats pushing up daisy's I guess. I'm paying that bill now.

Here's a hydrogenated oil story. There's an area in my neighborhood where there's a very long stretch of grass and a sidewalk next to a big building that all the dogs like to go and sniff each others business. One day i noticed a slice of pizza laying under the hedge easy to see though. Every day I would walk my dog he never touched that pizza and neither did any other dog apparently. It sat there for weeks untouched. For almost 2 months no deterioration other than drying up a little. Didn't even change color. 4 months later still there and getting a little black still intact and untouched no animal interested not even ants. That's hydrogenated oil.
