Not when it takes at least a week and I don't have a charging cable. Then you also need to buy the adapter to allow usage of 110, so you get closer to $300.

He says his turn around time is only a day. It doesnt sound like you would be without it a whole week. Email him if you want more info. He answers questions quickly.

As for the adapter, you can buy the parts at Lowes and make your own for about $10.

I use this lock and it fit the hole on the latch perfectly.

Use this lock and you don't have to drill the hole bigger.

i ended up using this, which works great. my only concern is that in the box came a little paper that said that this thing contains chemicals known to the state of california to cause cancer and reproductive harm. why???

here's what it looks like: 01-p01.jpg
the cost is 14,700 yen, which is ~$180 at today's exchange rates
this does seem like a good mod to import, though the cost is quite a bit "out there" imho…

Doesn't everything in CA say that?

i'm not sure if that's supposed to be a "funny"/snarky comment about excessive regulation in CA, but no, not everything says that. in fact, i can't remember the last time i've seen that notice on a product. i've seen it in garages/repair shops/coffee shops/some department stores, but that's it.

I've seen this notice on many products, usually due to lead content in electronics, leaded crystal or paint. If a product contains any of the chemicals in this list, it needs to include a warning when sold in California. With most products, the amount of lead you get on your skin when touching the product is safe as long as you wash your hands before eating, and don't let babies/children chew on the product.

If you are concerned about which chemicals are in the Lewis N Clark lock, you should contact the company that makes it to ask them.

i guess i sleep soundly at night knowing that none of my electronics have this. apple phased out lead in their products many many years ago.
good call on contacting the company though.

Came out to my car last week and found a cordless drill battery connected to the extension cord my EVSE was connected to. Some jokers at work unplugged my EVSE from the extension cord. It was at the end of the day so no harm done and I can take a laugh. When I confronted the culprit, he told me he overheard one disgruntled coworker exclaim I was stealing from the company and was going to report me to the managers. Wth? As if I would have the audacity to plug my car in at the closest parking spot to the front door in plain view of 100 employees passing through and not obtain permission first?

Anyway, there's quite bit of animosity towards electric vehicles at my company and a few practical jokers all too comfortable with my car. I went to TJ Maxx and bought this $5.99 TSA approved luggage lock. Perfect fit and it works. I can't stop getting unplugged at the extension cord but I have a feeling I might get a ransom note for my EVSE one day if I am not more proactive. Plus, I don't have a luggage lock. So dual use is good. IMG_1292.JPG IMG_1291.JPG

That's the best solution and I had adopt it too, works like a champ. Mine works with a key, easier to unlock in the darkness of the early morning with out glasses

I just purchased a lock for mine and had to enlarge the hole, but I'm wondering, how strong is the latch on the charging port/cable? Meaning, if someone wanted to take the cable, it doesn't seem like it would take much force to rip the charging cable right out of the port. I didn't want to test it on my brand new PP. The little plastic latch doesn't seem like it'll take that much force before giving away. That's with it being locked.

You can also wrap a securing cable through the wheel, and clamp a masterlock around the securing cable and charge cable. Won't be able to steal without bolt cutters.

I saw that option posted above and that's a pretty good idea also but more troublesome. I may consider it depending on the area I decide to charge in. I was just wondering if anyone did try to rip out the locked charging cable, would it still be usable or destroy it and my car's charging port?

Sounds like Arizona - the only place I know where people get emotional about something like saving gas. As if it's a Communist conspiracy if we don't want to measure our mileage in miles per dead soldier.

I imagine a good solid yank could remove the plastic latch. The lock doesn't really do much. But it's like the two guys in the forest and they encounter a bear. They both run away. One guy says, "We can't outrun a bear." Second guy says, "I don't need to. I just need to outrun you." That's why I bought a shiny red lock so that would be thieves go to easier targets. Looping through the wheel is just too much trouble and if in the rain, could really mess up my clothes. I won't be charging anywhere but home and work anyway where I know people and people know me.

This one also works fine without having to drill a bigger hole. And it works at ChargePoint too in case some joker wants to unplug your car.
