I think the new oil filter is about recycle-ability, waste reduction and oil recovery.
Spin on type cartridges are a dreadful thing for the environment, as people throw them in their normal trash with oil in them.
The workshop I worked in had a recycle bin for oil filters, they were crushed to extract the oil then shredded as low grade steel due to the remaining oil and filtering media. I always take my used oil and filters to a recycling depot that accepts them. I pay to do this.
These new filters have much less steel and will drain out easier.
    The new location sucks!

The offers are non-transferable, but based on PriusTeam's past treatment of us, and the fact that it is, after all, about selling cars, it wouldn't surprise me if they responded positively if Fred were to email them and put in a request. They did include in the offer an email address interested friends could write to. Of course, if there were a flood of such requests it might be a different matter.

with others who were not at PCD getting the offers as well, the price probably wont be all that special. i am still in a position where i probably need to get another car with greater capacity (range probably not an issue i hope) so am now thinking about getting the 2010, do a hymotion to it. then wait a "few" more years, trade in the 2006 when the plug in Pri does arrive (if no other decent EV has emerged)

If the 2010 HSD is in any way different than the Gen II, the HyMotion might not be available for it. Not for a while, anyway.

I doubt the pre-order discount will be huge, but it will probably be large enough to make it worth while for someone seriously considering the car anyway. I got the impression it was limited to a very small number of people.

Hi all! Sorry I haven't posted much in the last months, I'm a Stockbroker and have had my hands full for awhile. I didn't even know I had a pre-order e-mail as my gmail account sent it directly to spam catagory. I was shocked to get a phone call asking if I wanted to pre-order! I am behind in the thinking and trying to catch up on all the comments I can find under the search "pre-order".

What to do? Oh such sweet misery: to be able to pre-order at some discount, yet I was saving my self for the Plug-In Goddess!

    Help!
