Seat Cover Review

I finally got it.

I have to say that I am very impressed with the quality of the covers. You can tell that they are covers but i really like the fabric and the way they strap to the seat. Considering the price this is a great deal.

the only thing i have against this company is the pathetic instructions they send along.

Hey EVNut,

How's it going with these seat covers and the kids and dog? I've got a similar situation and am wondering if I need to get some heavier duty, read, more expensive covers. We live on a dirt road, so things *won't* be clean.

Thanks to everyone who offered advice in this thread. I ordered Endura from the The Seat Cover Factory (Exactseatcovers). With my bad knee I was unable to install them right away. Two of my grandsons are visiting from NC, one starting college the other starting graduate school in a few weeks. They just finished installing them for me and they look great, nice fit, good color, good quality. For the price they can't be beat. $81.00 including shipping.

When I ordered them I received seat covers for no front air bags. I called, explained the problem and they sent the correct front seat covers and asked me to return the original ones they sent, which I did. I recommend The Seat Cover Factory highly as they were very easy to deal with.

I recently purchased a set of seat covers from ExactFit, and since it seems the original photos are lost, I've made a few of my own to help explain how to put in the bottom front covers. I have a bisque fabric interior, and while the seat covers do not match the color, they do look good against it.

Start - stretch the bottom seat cover over the seat, and pass the front straps back under the seat.

Now, reach underneath and feel for the clips holding the OEM seat cover in place. Take some time doing this since you'll have to put them back when you are done and you will have to go by feel. Remove the clips

Now push the straps into the crack between the seat bottom and top.

Thread them through the clips, snug them down and stuff back into the crack. Then reclip the OEM seat cover.

Attach the velcro strip from the top to the bottom and we're done. On the tops be sure you get the passenger/driver orientation right - there is a hole in the cover to allow the airbag to deploy.

The velcro strap was more problematical - I passed that around and under the seat as well but I'm not sure I did it right - it was too cramped to get any tension on the strap, and way too cramped to try photos. IMHO they should have made the third strap just like the first two, perhaps with a few inches longer before the clips.

 

Does anybody know if the front seat bottom cushions come out somehow (like the back seats do)?
That would make the front seat bottom cover install a heck of a lot easier.

I installed everything else without much problem and it looks good,
but I am stymied by the front seat bottom covers.

Technically they come out. But I think it's a major operation to disassemble the seat so IMHO you really don't want to go there.

I initially struggled with the install as well. But after I figured out how to temporarily remove the OEM cover flap from underneath the rear of the seat the covers installed fairly easily. The only real problem was the securing the velcro strap - they still aren't tight since there is no way to apply tension under the seat but that has not seemed to cause a problem so far.

Since the original pictures were lost I tried to document how to install the front seats - was part of my earlier post unclear?

 

thank you for the pics and detailed instructions. I got the covers from ebay, they arrived in just a few days. the installation takes a little time, but with the tips from this thread I know it cut the time in half not having to figure out how to get the velcro strap around the sliding rails on the front seats and how to unhook the factory seat covers to get the flaps inbetween the seatback. I'm pretty amazed at how custom-fitted the seats are and how taught they fit. For the money it's a great deal.

 

After someone asked about seat covers in another thread from which I linked to this one, I figured an update might be in order.

Bottom line: The covers are still doing well. The fit is still good, the color doesn't seem to have faded (tinted windows sure don't hurt), and there is no visible sign of wear. And the attachment workaround for the two front pieces that we described earlier in this thread is holding up just fine.

So with almost two years on them now, I can say with even more confidence that these covers are an excellent value.

 

I am on the market for some reasonable cheap fit car seat covers for my Prius 2005. Since my interior color is tan and already bit dirty, I would try to cover as much as possible (including the front center and door arm rests if possible).
I found this thread, but it seems that meanwhile the covers in discussion got more expensive. Also I am not sure how much of the interior they cover... Any recent experience with these?

Well, I got the covers for $69 from ebay! They are more than reasonable! They fit pretty well and for the price they are very good! And btw, I just noticed a price drop, so you can find them even cheaper. The only thing is that the bag was kind of dusty so I suspect they produced them a long time ago and have them stocked. If you go online on their store the price is well above $150 now.
