    I have two working Xgauges here for the 2010 Prius. Don't use my untested one below -- I had an error in it.

    Battery AMPs for Gen III prius (- values are charging, + values are draw) -- tested working

    (Sadly when the ICE shuts off, the computer keeps reporting the last known value ... it does not show 0.00 except when you first turn on the car before the ICE starts.)

    We are SOL for multi-frame/multimessage with current 3.17F firmware as it's not just three responses to one command, you have to send two commands in sequence ...

    I think our best bet right now is for someone who is monitoring the CAN bus to find the broadcast traffic for some of these parameters. Plenty of information flows at all times on the CAN bus and it's just a matter of time before someone can figure out the packets we need to pick up on the scan gauge. The the best thing about listening to these packets already on the BUS is often their refresh rate is very fast.

    I have a "MPH" xgauge on my SGII that runs at about 60fps picking up on broadcast traffic. (it's the same xgauge as for the Gen II car.)

    Oh ya, something else .... I wanted to see what would happen if I tried to set that parameter with other values besides 0x40 .... I tried 0x01, 0x02, 0x04 and none worked. (I didn't get the confirmation message.)

    But 0x80 was stored ... strangely, it disabled the beep in exactly the same way as 0x40. I was thinking maybe it was a binary setting and 0x80 would disable change something else but leave the backup beep enabled.... I guess not.

    0x01 = 0000001
    0x02 = 0000010
    0x04 = 0000100
    0x40 = 0100000
    0x80 = 1000000

    I am very pleased to finally get rid of that annoying backup beeping! My dealer refused to change it so I'm extremely happy to have been able to do it myself via the Scangauge II!

    I also added the AMP Xgauge and it too seems to be working correctly. It will be most interesting to observe this while I'm driving to work tomorrow.

    Add me as another who would like to have his headlights turn off immediately instead of having to wait for 30-seconds. Seeing is believing and I don't like waiting around for it to happen, particularly with the cold weather we're having right now.

    Yes, here here. Once that guy gets his ODB scanner and Rob and Adrian get some of the data, the Gen III will be good as cracked.

    Once again RobH comes through! These work perfectly as well! I couldn't test the passenger seat belt warning, but since 00 disabled the driver's side, I assume it's gone as well. I drove up to about 20mph and unclicked my belt. The warning light came on but no beep. I set it to C0 and tried again and sure enough, beeping.

    You still get the initial beeping when you first turn on your car. Connect your seatbelt before hitting start to disable that. :)

    It's all RobH -- I simply tested the data he provided. So my hats off to him for snooping the Techstream data. :)

    I looked through the service manual to see what else Techstream can change and there isn't much else that is interesting....

    It's probably possible to create a XGAUGE to put the car in Maintenance Mode -- helpful when working on the engine. (It stops the engine from auto-stopping.) You can do it without any tool, you just have to enter a sequence on the pedals which could be bothersome if you're doing things like adjusting the vales, etc.

    I did order myself an ELM327 USB interface -- my old gateway is old and doesn't support CAN. I really have no experience doing anything with CAN but maybe I'll be able to figure out a few things. (I doubt it, though, haha -- considering there are a lot of experts working on it too and progress seems very slow.)

    The best way to glean data is to snoop techstream as RobH did -- as it can pull so much info out of the car.

    The brain said to wait until other suckersXXXXXXXvolunteers tested this first. The heart said do it.

    So I did it. These and the reverse single beep command seem to be working on mine.

    Any idea what the actual injector volume units are? If that is volume per stroke, I'm guessing it is off (too high) by about one decimal place. More observation, including comparing this against GPH and RPM, during tomorrow's commute.

    Everyone, just a friendly reminder:

    Since this XGAUGE changes a value in the car's ECU, please DOUBLE and even TRIPLE check the XGAUGE before you use it. If you have it programmed incorrectly, you could inadvertently change a value into some other function we don't know about with unknown results.

    Once you are done using it, remove the XGAUGE from the ScanGauge II by setting the first digit to "blank."

    I am confident, though, that using this to change the reverse and seatbelt beep is safe. RobH's data was very clear on what Toyota Techstream is doing and we are basically replicating it. Just make sure you enter the XGAUGE correctly. :)

    Are y'all sure you're not chasing injector *ms*, rather than
    *mL*? Milliseconds would actually be a somewhat more useful
    figure, as it's an almost direct indication of your torque
    plateau as the engine starts taking on load.

    I would rather see pulse width for that reason ... but it seems this metric is mL. But what makes it essentially useless is that it keeps reading the last value when the injectors are shut down, so you can't even verify warp stealth.

    I would assume if we found the pulse width it would zero out when no fuel was going in.
