    october: flu, covid, rsv, a week apart. grandchildren flew home from a trip to abu dhabi, and were all sick within a week. unknown virus :rolleyes:

    daughter just came back from europe with covid and strep in the er very sick. i feel bad for the people on that flight

    Don't remember if we've talked about it here before. Commercial jets have excellent ventilation/filtration. At-risk breathers are within a few rows of seats.

    There must be exceptions. Poor maint. on vent. systems sometimes? Also I suppose small jets have much less fancy vent systems.

    she just found out that several acquaintances at the conference she attended have come down with the same symptoms.
    i have read about their air filtration systems, but i have to wonder about people within a certain radius of a person spewing virii

    I love me an aisle seat even though with exposure to emissions from all the walkers.

    Not quite up to our usual decorum standards. Cabin crew with flatulence are referred to as crop dusters.

    It has been killing many wild birds for >2 decades. Birds are a troublesome group as they include many long-distance migrators. It recently has shown evidence of jumping to many mammal species.

    Human to human transfer has not yet been confirmed. This and other things of interest are in the links above.

    These are not clickbait links, but skeptical readers may still exercise their privilege to call the whole thing clickbait. But I'd not be fulfilling my self-appointed task if I did not post this.

    I do not know if turkeys have 'joined the club' but appropriate cooking ... still is. Long it has been known that stuffing should be cooked externally and called dressing.

    Things will happen before 2025. Health Agencies may fall to the new 'normal', but that would take even more time. It is equally concerning that surveillance of emerging viruses could have a multi-year crimp. In other words, H5N1 might not be the one.

    As I write this, bread pieces are drying and boiled chicken, onion, and celery pieces are refrigerating.
    The bread, celery, and onion (plus celery seed, salt and a LOT of black pepper, and other spices) will be contaminated with real chicken eggs (*gasp!!!*) fried in REAL butter until you think it's burned beyond redemption, and then baked with the chicken and broth into............wonderfully aromatic and traditional DRESSING!!

    Outside of a processing plant?
    Only idiots STUFF turkeys.
