but to clarify, i'm not sure how not looking for the source and beginnings of the virus helps us concentrate on CORONA-19, and i'm not sure why you consider looking intoa country of origin as 'race based'.

As for WHO, I really don’t follow them closer than the NIH, CDC, and academic researchers. To be perfectly blunt, WHO cares?

I’ve always seen WHO as a medical distributor versus research. Give them medical supplies and they will be delivered. Of course your mileage may differ.

i'm not big at looking at one country for local prognostications, too many variables.

read a nice article in the atlantic yesterday. said we are at herd immunity in the usa (local hot spots none the less)

I've always thought that it was a false dichotomy. 'Either it is zootonic or it escaped from the lab.' Why not both? Certainly they were studying coronaviruses in the lab at Wuhan, the town where the initial outbreak is thought to have taken place. Also, the bats thought to be the source live 1000 miles from Wuhan, but were being studied in this lab. If so, it would be an accident, not a crime. There have been virus escapes from BSL-4 level labs elsewhere in the world. To me it is like when Martha Stewart went to prison, not for insider trading, but for covering it up and lying to the FBI. Whether or not there was a lab leak, there's not much question that China is impeding any and all investigation into the lab.
