Well, from Australia's experience, not locking down quickly is a quick path to a major outbreak resulting in a much longer lock down for the regions affected.
NSW (New South Wales, also known as Newcastle, Sydney, Wollongong because that is where the state govt spends the majority of money) has had a some what relaxed approach compared to the other states that all had outbreaks.
The other states are now open for business again and open for travel between the states .... NSW however is in the midst of a rapid increase in the case numbers, locked down large populated areas and is a no go zone from any of the other states and the borders to all the other states are locked to prevent them from travelling out of NSW .....
We are in the midst of a vaccine shambles, our illustrious leader and govt put all it's eggs in the astrazeneca vaccine because it could be made locally ..... then the list of those who shouldn't have it due to blood clotting issues became rather blurred with different information being passed out at news conferences by the pollies in federal govt compared to state govt .... so now pfizer is the preferred, or one of each and the wait for enough doses to arrive has almost halted our vaccination roll out ..... still waiting for the moderna AstraZeneca vs. Pfizer vs. Moderna vs. J&J COVID-19 Vaccine the Johnson & Johnson vaccine was previously rejected because of the blood clot issues .......
Now they are saying those aged 61 and can only get the astra vaccine because the other vaccine is for the younger age groups .... seems they can afford for the oldies to possibly get blood clots and fall off the perch because their wealth input in the form of taxes isn't as long term as the younger groups .... and the young ones won't have their hand out for a pension at age 66 ...... Yeah, I know, a conspiracy theory in full swing
Now weighing up if the blood clot issues v getting the virus if I wait till there is enough of the other vaccines available that I can get some of that squirted into my arm .....

I guess if I get the blood clots and die I won't have to worry about which vaccine I get for the second dose .....

Does anyone have a graph showing percent vaccinated and subsequent per-capita COVID-19 cases? Ideally on a county-by-county basis.

I actually agree with whoever is using the Oxygenarian-in-Chief as a meat puppet on that issue.

    Eminent domain - Wikipedia

    After all.....
It's not like you're going after somebody's HOUSE.
Besides....we're post Kelo-v-New London these days anyway......so there's really no such thing as 'private property'..... 'eh?

in emergency situations, and when government funding is involved, private property goes out the window

    Concur unreservedly.

AGREEING what constitutes an emergency seems to be the tough part.
Example...forcing somebody to sell their property against their will because a connected real estate developer wants to "increase the town's tax revenues" doesn't constitute an "emergency" in everybody's book.

Cooercing a pharma to share mRNA tech during a dampanic seems closer - especially if BP wants top cover from liability.

    ACTUAL MILEAGE may vary......

agree too. the powers that be get to declare the emergencies, for better or worse.

my grandma lost her beach house to a developer through eminent domain, so i know first hand how that nonsense goes down.

If the target SAR protein does not show up until binding, how does the antibody find it?

Does it require a trigger to get the protein exposed?

Sh*t got real today, well over here anyway. Two cases detected Monday evening marking two places they were at on Sunday ....... 6 cases linked to these two cases Tuesday and now 12 cases as of today some time, when ever the cut off is for counting these things. That is 12 new cases from 2 cases in three days, this latest South Australian outbreak might go mega ... well by local proportions anyway. The whole state went into lockdown as of 6pm last night, so today was my first official day in lock down .... so I spent it watching TV

Too bad you can't re-patriate temporarily.
They're so desperate to find arms to squirt around here, I'm afraid to drive with the window open and my arm hanging out.

those are the 2nd & 3rd most populated states, so if those numbers would have been in Wyoming, Alaska, Idaho, Montana Etc it would be more meaningful. As it is, per milion, Florida/Texas numbers are still Eclipsed by around a half-dozen States or more.

    Cases without context.....

    How many deaths?
    How many break-through deaths?
    Serious illnesses?
    Break-through ratios?

actually, what is meaningful is hospitalizations and capacities. docs are getting nervoius in fl and a few other states. that's a bad thing with slowing vaccinations, rising cases and increasing variants

agree. cases only matter to immuno compromised people, as the vaccines may not be as effective for them.
hospitalizations and capacities are my gold standard for people with healthy immune systems. but the media hype doesn't go there until it's too late
