Just got your first shot now:whistle:?

I thought Taxachussetts would have progressed along faster than that;).

But maybe you've younger than I think you are:).

Glad you got it. The second one is a doozy(y).

My second one was just as doozy-negative as the first.

Reading up on one of the alternate vaccines, the author believes it doesn't pose a possible future risk the way mRNA might.

The article also delves into historic detail how the inventor of insulin basically gave away/sold for $1 - the insulin patent (feeling Society deserved it) - only for it to be abused by continually modifying the formula slightly, so that big dollars could be raked in on a continually modified formula - thus - not allowing the patent to expire. That kind of motive sometimes crushes better, or at least, alternative vaccine ideas.

This is the hard-to-swallow truth about a future coronavirus vaccine (and yes, I'm a doctor) | The Independent

Take your turn when it's your turn;).

My parents (who are probably around your age) have been fully vaccinated since March
when Pennsylvania made it available for those 65 and older. They traveled out to see us and our kids yesterday and will be here for a couple of weeks:).

First time they have seen them in person in over 2 years. Getting the shot when available helps mental health(y).

There is quite a lot written recently about mRNA vaccines. If a nice summary shows up I'll link it or someone else will. I really don't understand how they get into cells, but apparently no further than cell membranes, to get at ribosomes. Crossing the nuclear membrane to where DNA is, is not a trivial matter.

Also, RNA eating enzymes are abundant outside cells, and the micrograms you get shot with must get chewed up pretty fast. This is why mRNA vaccines require ultracold. RNA-ase is everywhere.

I find "face diapers" to be superb modern propaganda. It evokes many emotional responses and yet maintains "obviously I didn't mean that" deniability. Kudos to the latter-day Machiavelli who said it first.

Source: ‘Waiting to happen’: the California region where masks are taboo – and cases are rising | California | The Guardian

Rural northern California is seeing a troubling rise in Covid-19 cases and hospitalizations, an alarming trend that comes as residents and businesses continue to protest against safety measures and vaccinations – with one Mendocino cafe threatening to charge customers $5 for wearing a mask.

While the region makes up a small proportion of the state’s population, the growth in its caseload has been considerable, and comes at a time when the state overall is enjoying some of the lowest rates of Covid in the country. After largely avoiding the worst of the pandemic, a block of far northern California counties now leads the state with nearly 40 cases per 100,000 residents over the past week, according to statistics maintained by the Los Angeles Times. Tehama county ranked the highest in the LA Times case ratings with 139 cases per 100,000 residents. Meanwhile 10 of the 21 total Covid deaths in nearby Siskiyou county have occurred since the beginning of May.

The mRNAs in these vaccines are protected by membrane-like coatings of lipid molecules that protect them from degradation and help deliver them by fusion to the cytoplasm of cells (where they direct the production of the viral spoke protein that triggers a protective immune response.)

We don't need long term data. People are still dying from Covid and (99.9%+) they aren't in the vaccinated group.

The unvaccinated group shrinks every time someone gets their first shot <== says Captain obvious.
