now that we have a federal government actively participating, i wish they would come out with some serious mask guidelines, and stop the nonsense from the cdc.

Personally I think the masks were BS...and not real sure about the "vaccines" either. But, with older parents, the job, the stores, ect...didn't have much choice. So I diapered the face (for 1-1/2 more days anyway) and got stuck twice. NOW...with continuing rumored implications that this was all-for-not "long term" and the reported average age of "Covid related" deaths higher than the average life span in the States...I'm calling BS from this point on. If people want to live the rest of their lives in fear within a sterile bubble...it's their problem now.

not much data or science there, and i think you've skewed the death age, not to mention your complete lack of mentioning hospitalizations.

but if you don't want to wear a mask where it is legal, and not get a booster, i'm okay with it.

One may dare hope that the US' 4th peak has been muted. I suppose that personal 'virus-sharing' behavior and immune-system 'training' are both involved.

Meanwhile in India, things are not going at all well.

I thought we were going to see a seasonal drop LAST summer. o_O
Of course.......we're measuring with a slightly different yardstick NOW, aren't we? :D

I went into a dollah store yesterday for a snack, and they still had their 'lawyer sign" on the front door indicating that masks are required for entry. Not wanting to be targeted by a Mask Karen, I dug mine out of my back pocket.
The "maskless" lady behind the counter told me to put it back in my pocket unless I was trying to rob the place.
She indicated that she just made a cash drop and I would only get about $50....

@ETC(SS) already fired the 'summer 2020' torpedo, so I have no need to flood a tube :)

It is, however, a fair point that 2020 autumn/winter peak was much larger than 2020 summer peak. I doubt that a temperature effect can be disentangled from everything else there.

'Seasonal' influenza may be the source of certainty (if one has it) about temperature control. That viral gang may not illuminate the actions of a novel coronavirus very well. This is not the place to enumerate their differences, and readers would be poorly served were I the enumerator.

Yet another pharmaceutical remedy for the Corona Virus. This has been developed by Pfizer and will be ready by year end!

Pfizer CEO Says Antiviral Pill To Treat Covid Could Be Ready By The End Of The Year

Many of Asian countries and many of our Asian bothers and sisters have found that mask slow the spread of respiratory diseases.

It is fine to just say I don't like wearing mask and am not going to wear one or to say I am not concerned about others and have no interest in their health and I personally won't wear a mask.
This is also against the law and mask mandates in many areas of our country.

It is fact that masks prevent the spread of respiratory diseases and their complication. It is wrong to imply otherwise.

In our area flu was non existent this year and seasonal allergies for myself have been nonexistent for the first time in memory.

It is a shame people feel the need to justify their behavior by ignoring and disputing facts and science-imagine if a Surgeon showed up to operate on you and said he/she wasn't going to wear a mask because masks are stupid.

CDC has modified outdoor mask mandates for those who are vaccinated

Being outside reduces transmissivity of the virus. We spend more time outdoors in nice weather. Sunshine is a good disinfectant.

cdc has totally messed up the covid response and masks in particular. they intially blamed the administration, but now, who are they gonna point the finger at? look in the mirror.
outdoor mask requirements are nonsensical, and being challenged by many mainstream scientists.

further, they have done nothing since the inauguration, to increase n95 mask supply or help americans get the right products for best protection and practices.

    Dot.gov isn't helping either.
They had a PERFECT chance yesterday to fill the Chamber of the House of Representatives with lawmakers who have been vaccinated for months now and say "Do THIS, and get back to living your best normal life!!"

BUT...the message than many of the anti-vaxers and many young norms got was....."why bother?"
SOME of the more cynical people might point to the Rahm Israel Emanuel theory of crisis management......but I think it's just mismanagement v2.0

    ...Science and Data! ;)
