Just a bit of a lighter note for those who can handle the "F" word being dropped every time he takes a breath and enjoy a bit of OKA Aussie humour

Bunnings is a big hardware chain throughout Australia. "Chopper" is a comedy parody of a notorious Aussie crime figure who was an "enforcer" for a crime boss, but also had a bit of a conscience .....

Hope so, but the weekend might have something to do with it;).

I know the county I live in does no weekend reporting:cool:.

    It makes Monday's look worse:eek:.

Keep safe in your neck of the woods(y).

    Massive dips every week

    Massivel dips each week.png

OTOH, last four weeks of this graph show flatness. That may be the best to hope for currently.

We have the same thing, no weekend reporting. When the numbers do come in they're spread to the appropriate reporting days. I generally don't look until Wednesday/Thursday since it's going to go up.

Best to use 7 day moving average on all such data. Some have been charting this way.

new york post: virologist jonathan latham and molecular biologist alison wilson of the non profit bioscience resource project in ithica new york claim that a 65 page chinese medical doctors masters thesis shows that the coronavirus was found in chinese miners in 2012, was being studied in the wuhan virology lab, and almost certainly escaped from there.

Latest from WHO on herd immunity

WHO: Herd immunity requires an effective vaccine

One part of me wants to believe the information from WHO, the other part of me says this is a disgraced organization that shouldn't be trusted. Do any of you share similar feelings on WHO, honestly I'm not sure what to think of some of their information?

i err on the side of caution. i think all the medical authorities have been a bit too liberal, when all the facts are not known yet.
likely, if you social distance properly, and wear a mask when in public indoors, wash your hands, don't touch your face, don't take public trans, don't go to bars, blah, blah, blah, you'll be fine.

that's not good enough for me, still isolating at home. i prefer to eliminate the 'unlikely'. we each make our choices, and live with them.
i'd prefer the emergency room doesn't have to live with mine.

WHO sitrep 209 was last daily under that name. Replaced by weekly updates. Apparently not only readers here thought signal to noise ratio of daily data has the potential to mislead.

The correct term is 'unreliable'. It is not a sole determinant which is why I use both resting temperature and O{2} level. As for anti-maskers, they win a "Darwin."

Good news locally. The positive rate of SARS-CoV-2 has dropped from ~14% down to ~7% over the past three weeks. Masks and social distancing works!

Bad news is we have ~35 on venerators which based on past metrics, ~11 are likely to die. It could be worse but this is bad enough.
