reverse warning beeps

You need the Dr Prius app and bluetooth dongle plugged into the OBDII port. Several dongles are recommended on the Dr Prius site; I went with Carista and it's worked fine ("Carista OBD Adapter for iPhone/IPad and Android New" is the description on the box).

ScanGuageII I'm not sure if it can do similar, maybe with XGauge programmed in. It's a different item, more for display of various functions not normally shown, coolant temp, rpm and so on.

 

You cannot cancel ONLY passenger side beep.
I tried successfuly with reverse beep and ALL seats beep.
I used Dr, Prius app and interface OBDLink LX/MX (in attach)

So I ordered the Carista and loaded the app and now to save my changes I have to pay $10 for one time use or a pro for $30 a year.

this is ridiculous!

 

Which app is that? Carista app? Just use the Carista dongle, not it's app. Dr Prius is lifetime if I'm not mistaken.

 

I bought the little Carista that you plug in and when I went to change the reverse beep and click save it automatically sent me to subscription crap.

Is there another way?

 

I downloaded/installed dr Prius, then plugged in the Carista, started the app, and it detected the Bluetooth signal. Forget the exact steps but not hard.

 

The last I knew, if you bought the Carista device, you got either a week or a month free use of the app. You simply do what you need to do with it and then cancel the subscription unless they changed how they do things. I REALLY hate renting software. It's like ransomware but it's for the apps rather than the data and they keep making you pay and pay and pay.

Or, as @Mendel Leisk said, get the Carista device and buy Dr. Prius. Dr. Prius won't let you customize everything but at least you can change the reverse beep and a few other things.

If you have an old laptop, for the same price, or less, you can get Techstream and a dongle from Ebay or Amazon and then you can do pretty much everything a dealer can do.

I have all three options.

 

Hello all just wanted to jump and say I have a 2010 and the Carista app and paid the one year service.
It is not worth it specially when I found a prius app that did the same thing as far as turning the reverse beep off.
You can use the carista Bluetooth adapter with other OBD2 apps like Dr. Prius and it will work.
The Carista however does offer customizations that others don't.

 

Used the Prius app and it worked out great. Reverse beep is just a single when you put into reverse and no seat belt light beat.
