Any dash mpg readings are likely ~7% optimistic, if Toyota's running true-to-form.

That must vary with the car. I get ~4.5% very consistently

He also drained the piss out of the battery to two bars and probably rode around and stomped the brakes before he started testing. This testing doesn't really mean anything. Like when I do that i just get awful gas mileage the next short trip that is similar to it and it ends up balancing out. lol
If he said "Well, after 1000 miles of testing, we got 68.8mpg" I would be like goddamn...
I wanna see someone give us a capacitor battery with a 60w capacity that we could stick inbetween the hv battery and the inverter. That would be neat for capturing 90% of the energy captures and releases I get on my daily drives.

Another video reviewing the cylindrical pack for those interested. This is a much longer detailed test. He was getting 39mpg with old battery, now after 1,798 mixed miles getting 44.7 mpg.

I don't understand why this is something to brag about. If he was getting 39mpg, there is something wrong with his car, other than the HV battery.

Heck, I can't remember the last time I had a tank of gas that was less than 48 when driving like I stole it, and in the 53-55 range when driving more conservative..

He's not bragging about it, he even breaks down the costs near the end of the video and stated he would most likely go with a refurbished battery instead.
