Replace Oil Drain Pan

    The method of rethreading the welded on nut of the oil pan has to be as good as or even better than a complete new oil pan. In the manufacturing process nuts are tapped with robotic machines in the same was as one would tap the hole with a hand tap. Only outside threads are mechanically rolled.

    The M14 tapped hole as opposed to the M12 of the original and the accompanying M14 plug makes the new unit even stronger than OEM. The 1.5 mm coarser thread pitch as opposed to the original M 1.25 metric fine thread pitch is less likely to be cross thread.

    My thoughts based on my engineering experience.
