Considering the direction of the air flaw, the rear wiper is pretty much a dot.

I guess this is what it is like to live in CA. I already pay one of the highest costs of living in the nation. So I have to complain about having to pay for a useless rear wiper and useless seat heaters as well.:D

I removed my wiper. 1. It makes cleaning the back window of the car easier. 2. Visibility

I agree prob doesn't do much for MPG if anything at all. Living in SoCal I never used it, and I keep the car clean.

I find the rear wiper useful if the car has been sitting outside in the rain or at stops in the rain. Pretty much one swipe when I get going, and that's it.

A lot the drag on a vehicle (or any object moving through a fluid like air or water) comes from the rear. That's why raindrops naturally take a blunt shape in the "front" and a long tail shape in the rear. Several NASA studies in aerodynamics of "box-shaped" transport vehicles found a 31% reduction in drag with a boat tail on the rear. In other words, having a "flat" back can increase your drag coefficient significantly.

I think adding 1 psi of air in the tires would do more than removing the rear wiper.
