So you're saying unregistered sensors, ie: new sensors that haven't been introduced to the car, don't result in a warning? That seems odd.

Again, I'm a card-carrying luddite on this topic, fully cognizant that dealing with TPMS sensors can be a real "tar baby".

Yes, that is what I am saying and yes that seems odd. I would have expected the dashboard warning indicator to light within a minute or two of the removal of the Summer wheels but that has not happened. Let's see if this behavior (no warning indicator) continues as more time passes.

The 25.44 psi of reported pressure looks very low for me. How this correlates with external pressure gauge?

The current temperature and pressure readings indicate that none of the sensors have been detected. The warning light will probably come on soon.

If the old sensors are stored nearby, then the car will probably pick them up. So you'll be ok in the garage, and a few miles down the road. But if the TPMS system is actually working, then you'll eventually see the warning light. Response is apparently much quicker when a sensor sees a quick loss of pressure.

This isn't the tire pressure, it's the set point threshold where the warning light comes on.

Penny wise pound cheap, both my BMW X1 and Ram ecodiesel run winter and summer wheels with tpms error free.

No, table has this threshold 23.44 (2 psi below measured pressure)

After an addition 45 minutes (approximately) of driving the TPMS warning indicator did in fact light. I am not sure why there was that much of a delay, but having the warning indicator appear makes logical sense when the sensor IDs are not registered with the tire pressure monitoring ECU.(hence no data is being received)

Per the image below, the warning indicator is pretty discrete (located on the passenger side of the Multi-information display - right side of this photo). I will probably try programming the new sensor IDs using Techstream just for the fun of it.

So this means you could install winter tyres without sensors and the warning indicator wouldn't come on, right ?
Edit: cancel this your last post came up as I was writing it.

In the example provide the actual tire pressures are "N/A" as the sensor IDs of the new wheels have not been registered with the tire pressure monitor ECU. The thresholds you are seeing ("initial threshold of low-pressure") are the residual values from when the wheels with the registered sensors were on the vehicle. The low-pressure threshold (which triggers the warning indicator) is set by the system based on the actual tire pressure at the time the tire pressure warning system is initialized. Initialization can be manually triggered through the Vehicle Settings menu of the Multi-Information Display (See "How to initialize the tire pressure warning system" in the Owners Manual).

Reposting some comments from anpther TPMS thread:

See my Thread "Managing TPMS with Techstream"
But there is no "easy" way to turn off the TPMS warning lights as it is legally mandated in USA.
One of our members (@RobH above) reprogrammed the TPMS controller to accept 5 tires, possibly this technique could be used to reprogram for less than 4 tires, but this is advanced topic.

If you keep your old tires w/ TPMS near the car you can possibly fake out the car while in the garage, as the system has no way to know if the tires are actually mounted on the car. There is a delay up to several weeks on my 2006 before the system realizes it is missing the tires. Short trips apparently do not give the controller time to assess that the old data in the TPMS data banks is not being refreshed.

My TPMS are approaching 10.5 years old from July_2006 build date, and only one has failed to date. I bought a new one from Amazon, and I did not install it. Rather I put it in binder clip which simulates real pressure, so I found a new TPMS fake-out method. So I really only have 3 TPMS reading and one fake out reading, and the light is OFF so my wife is happy.

I've done the same thing with my winter wheels, in fact I don't even have TPMS sensors on my winter wheels. The TPMS warning seems to come on when you are away from your summer wheels for about 20 minutes with the car powered up. In other words, if you keep your summer wheels next to the car in the garage it will receive a signal from them and think that all is well, then you drive away and 20 minutes later the TPMS light comes on, flashing at first then solid on. Seems the warning is just a little yellow light on the right side of the display, not that annoying at all.

Adding the new sensor IDs via Techstream appears straight forward (based on Internet Techstream videos that document the procedure), however I encountered problems as shown in the thread below. I am punting on this and living with the Tire Pressure Warning indicator light on the dash, which in my view is not a visual annoyance.

So I just bought a 2017 Prius Two two weeks ago. Swapped out the summer tires with snow tires we had on our 2005 Prius. When I went to Costco to get new snow tires I had TPMS sensors installed. Of course, the TPMS warning light has been on the entire time. Went to Costco and they said drive around for a few miles, still stayed on. Is my next step to go to the Toyota dealer and have them sync them up?

Cheapest route by far: just ignore the light during winter. In the States where TPMS is legislated, this might be the shortest/cheapest distance between two points: get them installed to comply with the law, then ignore them. Which is crazy, but hey.

When Toyota dealership gets the snow tire tpms working, come spring, your regular wheels won't work; it'll be a twice yearly expensive trip to the dealership.

Well why not talk to COSTCO? They apparently failed to register the codes for the tires. You would need the codes on all four tires. Each TPMS has a code number. You either have to write down the code, or more expensive test meters can read it. Lots of us use miniVCI with Toyota Techstream (EBay/Amazon) software to set the codes ourselves.. But that's a little project.

If you have 4 working and registered codes, including the orig tires with TPMS just close to the car, the codes should get that light out in a couple of minutes ..it does take a few minutes. First test would be to put the summer tires near the car while its on, see if the lights go out.

I went to them the day of the install and a week later. I have snow tires on my Camry and I just ignored the warning light all these years. Just wanted my daughter not to deal with a blinking light all winter. Anyway, I'd gladly ignore it but I paid $40/tire for these TPMS sensors and I want them to work! Guess I'm headed to the Toyota dealer...

It's too late in your case, but someone was saying US tire retailers are ok to mount tires without tpms IF the rims are loose. Again, this is a work-around, and could be problematic depending on your situation. As far as "dealing" with the light, it's no big deal: there's always lights on the dash, the passenger air bag status light for example. It's just another, diminutive light.

In Canada TPMS on snow tires is NOT legislated, thankfully. I've got nothing against TPMS, appreciate it on our OEM wheels, but I'm DIY swapping OEM and snows twice yearly, and having to pay dealership twice yearly to keep the system operating with both sets of wheels: is not happening.

The alternative is to educate yourself, invest in equipment to initialize yourself. That's not that easy or cheap, I just opted to keep it simple.

When I got the snow tires, at a Toyota dealership: the service writer asked if I wanted TPMS valves, while emphatically shaking his head no, lol. I'd already decided against it going in, but found that sort of funny.

    After you've bought one, though.
