    Just get a used battery all of them will start coming on till you dont replace it, no point of fixing anything just get the battery used ones can be around 1000-1500

    Its alive again finally but I have one last question. My key fob is not working i have changed the battery in it it will start the car but it will not lock and unlock. this is the spare key as the regular key has disappeared. I am not sure if it ever worked before or not but my questions is can the battery of the car being unplugged for so long cause it to not recognize the key fob?

    no, it's probably not an original fob.

    Congrats!! How many cells did it take?

    I think there are threads here about programming the fob. It's a seriously goofy process, imho. ;)

    Jerry, ended up needing a total of 6 but one had to be replaced more than once it went bad after I had it grid charged.

    It is the original fob but it looks like it may have gotten wet the rubber around the buttons is all chewed up

    Here are a couple fob possibilities if you can't get the old one to work. There are others, too.

    If you are referring to what has been dubbed "The Chicken Dance", then it is not an option. You need to have a working key fob in order to add a new key fob using the chicken dance routine.

    A visit to the dealer is probably the only option to reinstate the SKS functions.
