People have installed numerous items on their Prius', with results left up in the air (some from personal experience, others from scientific, but not scientific from a reliable source). I really have to wonder what is the big issue with the red bullet? It's gotten to the point that some wish to call those who have purchased it idiots and those who haven't champions to "superior intelligence". Does the Injen really work? or is it just for show? For me, I really don't care. I think it looks cool. If it does work on someone's car, I can't really say it didn't, especially if I don't have one. My point is, to each his own. The red bullet has caused such a storm of dissagreement. So ridiculous. I have to ask, do certain people in here hate blacks? or maybe Asians? Is that the underlying issue? As a person who has read these threads I am begining to wonder. The red bullet is the only one that seems to hit really hard from a cultural standpoint. I hope I am off track here, but one has to wonder.

For now... ;) A lot can happen in 20 years. I mean, according to scientists, the world will end in 25 anyhow...

I would love to see more videos about this product. I usually buy products based on YouTube reviews. Watching a product being used helps me take a more informed decision. If I see a video review that demonstrates the better acceleration and mpg gains I’m more likely to want to buy this.

Hi guys! Hope you are all doing awesome. I moved to a new place recently and my vehicle is now parked in B3/under ground basement level 3 every night.
Before i set off in the morning i do the ritual of giving the ICE that initial warm up cycle. I have gone up a ramp once forgetting to do that and nearly came to a craw midway. I felt it really put strain and over discharge on the cells.
Always dont forget to do that warm up if you are going up a steep hill right out the gate.

We are waiting for the work to be done in our new place which we are parked at B8... I get really nauseous rotating up that spiral for that climb. I'll never forget to do the warm up procedure for sure. The Red Bullet helps greatly with the warm up cycle extra smooth during that static run.
Due to my location of residents, that in and out of the underground parking has took a toll. At the moment my economy is steady at 25.2km/L.
    Happy gliding guys!

Hi Montgomery. I feel some of your frustration. It seems pretty cut and dry with the Red Bullet...the part just works...it's a simple way to add mpg and better use of power for a relatively inexpensive price (in light of the $$ we spend for car repairs during our lifetime) and easy DIY job. Max seems to have been pretty transparent with it all from the start and helpful with any questions we've had. If I remember correctly, he posted some chart results between the OEM and RB as well as several display picts comparing the two. I think in life there will always be skeptics and unbelievers, even when evidence from is shown and questions have been answered to an adequate degree. The part is working good for me still...and I am getting between 60-67 mpg (now around 60 due to colder weather effecting my mpg). No regrets. Follow my Fuelly to track my mpg log.

You mentioned Injen...not sure you meant that b/c we're talking about the RB...but, in case you did, I have the Injen short ram intake installed and I don't think it added or subtracted from my mpg...but maybe gives a little more power when mashing down the pedal for highway merging or passing.
    Hope that helps.

You are correct CSuirp! Max had charts, graphs as well as tests done by Prius Gen III taxis. It was all ignored. My feelings is because he is from a foreign area selling to us. Again, I may be wrong, but why hasn't Bill the Engineer been bashed? Heck, Bill is building a garage to house his project? Is he wasting his money? Will his project prove anything? Is he "drinking the koolaid" with his pie in the sky project? The special bashing towards Max and the red bullet was unbelievable! Every time he came back with facts, they were dismissed. I have been enjoying 3mpg more per gallon and a "kick" in exceleration that I didn't have before. If you don't believe it, I can't change you mind. If you think the bullet is a farce, I get it. But to attack an Asian man from another country who was trying to reach out to us....................I can't accept that.

I have to agree with you. I also posted 6x drag runs, 3x stock 3x red bullet and showed improved times on the red bullet runs.

Thank you guys! I really appreciate the support!
I did at one point think about changing my avatar to Max Taiwan/Canada. I do have dual citizenship after all... what is happening in HK does seem to be a good idea to have the Canadian passport handy if one day... You never know.

The claim made for this product has consistently been:

    • (a) it makes valve timing changes happen faster than with the stock valve, and
    • (b) because of (a), happy things with performance and drivability ensue.

Last Wednesday, mr_guy_mann put up the first (known to me) direct test of whether (a) happens. The test was done by scoping the crankshaft and camshaft sensors, which had already been identified two years earlier as the way it would have to be done. Data from OBD-II would not suit the purpose because of the delays in polling OBD-II and getting replies.

The work does have (for now) one methodological weakness, small sample size; it was well designed in taking multiple runs with each type of valve, but having purchased only one sample of each type, it cannot (by itself) rule out whether the single sample of any of the valve types was a dud. But it is a very good start on getting some basic information about this product that has been overdue for a couple years now.

I just received mine yesterday and I installed it today. Now my Prius can go to mach 2 within 20 seconds ;). I may even be able to help the Ukrainian against those russian jets :). Seriously, I don't feel that much of a difference.

Take it on the freeway Nico.
You will notice the extra power then.
