[The V has a bounce and sway system that is difficult to find info on....do a search
here, I think I posted about it a year ago.
At least for me I feel side winds while highway cruising.]

I put Air Lift bags in my v's coil springs, I keep 12 lbs of air in them, it really improves the wallow that it does, I noticed it on the 08 but all i could do with the struts was clamp the springs.

Pitch & Bounce Control is the name.

Pitch and bounce control dynamically changes engine torque to dampen front to back oscillations. At freeway speeds it effectively smooths out the ride. It does nothing for side to side swaying sometimes experienced in high cross winds and does nothing for low speed road bumps and irregularities. When we test drove the car, my wife immediately noticed the freeway improvement over our other cars.

From a Toyota press release: The torque of the vehicle’s traction motor is adjusted, based on wheel speed sensor inputs, to neutralize repetitive oscillations in the range of 1 to 2 Hz, according to Toyota chief engineer Hiroshi Kayukawa, which helps to suppress “bounce and toss” motion.

Your point? I cured the REAR wallow from the solid axle that they have finally gotten rid of on the Gen 4 & Prime, the double wishbone suspension stops the feeling like you are driving a Detroit rear wheel drive econobox.

I hear a lot about this 'crosswind wallow' or whatever folks call it, but have to say I've never experienced it on the v Five. And on that theme, the pitch and bounce control must work really well because it's a non-issue, light or loaded.

Sorry, I'm just a dumb owner, didn't intend to snap like that. I spent 45 years driving Detroit econoboxes and hated that feeling.

Just wondering, I have a 2016 prius but the back has the angular taillights, is the model you have photos of a different model?
Had the car 3 years and still learning

Anyway, now that I'm done showing off, here are a few questions in no particular order:

    1. I love this car already, but I'm kinda surprised how loud the road-noise is, esp. at freeway speeds. Are there any tips or tricks I might employ to reduce it?

    2. The "Premium JBL Sound System" is shockingly lackluster - it's tinny and sounds thin and almost 'hollow' even when the Bass slider is set to max - a significant downgrade from the JBL sound system in my 2008 Prius (the one my wife now has). Are there any recommended upgrades or enhancements I might look into?

    3. Is there a way to completely reset the "Favorites" on the stereo? The previous owner has a TON of presets (both for AM/FM and for the SiriusXM radio), and since they lived in a totally different area and had very different tastes from me, it's becoming tedious to slowly replace their favs one at a time

    4. Speaking of SiriusXM, I find that the signal seems to cut out a lot while driving around town, probably due to trees and/or buildings. Is there any better antenna for this, or is it just a fact of life with satellite radio?

    5. Other than new floor-mats, are there any suggested upgrades / enhancements I should look into?

    Thanks for any feedback guys![/QUOTE]

    1. Some owners have added Dynamat to the doors and floor plan to increase sound insulation

    3. There should be a “reset to factory settings” for the Display Audio system. Then you start from scratch as if the car was new (and the previous owner should’ve done that otherwise not only do you see his radio presets but possibly his nav settings and saved destinations)
