5 Quarts of VALVOLINE Synpower Synthetic Motor Oil AND a FRAM Tough Guard Oil Filter $24.99 thru Aug 26

Valvoline did not have 0W-20 so they gave me Mobil 1 and FRAM did not have a oil filter so they gave be a differnt brand.

Aha - you said Mobil 1 in your other post - I went onto AAP site and didn't see that, but Valvoline... So I assume Valvoline is AOK as well?

I didn't go down deep enough to see that post.
I went to Advanced just now. Like you, no Valvoline 0W20. So ran the deal past the clerk and got the Mobil 1 AFE 0W20 for $4.09 qt. reg $6.99. Ditto Purolator Plus filter, but they didn't deal on the price; $7.79. So total $28.24. Then the Mobil One rebate for $10. BTW what a hokey way to finally get to the rebate form - needing to complete that stupid quiz. Then no doubt get onto their email list. Oh well.

I have only 2300 miles on mine, but prepping for 1st change between 4500 and 5000. Still not sure if it'll be DIY or bring the oil and pay for the install. I'll need to scour PC for the DIY detailed stuff.

Thanks to the OP and Judgeless for the rebate tips.

The Autozone website says that all the deals in their current circular (which include the Mobil 1 deal) are good through Wednesday, August 26, 2009:

No, I just purchased an STP #S10358 cartridge type oil filter for the 2010 Prius; got it at Auto Zone here in town.

I just bought 5 quarts of Mobil1 for $25 (used a $10 off coupon). If the rebate goes through it'll reduce the price to $15....$3/quart!

Oh Oh - hope Mobil 1 doesn't bounce your rebate claim. It's only for Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy syn. If your receipt doesn't reflect that, they may not pay off.

But perhaps the feds will start up a C4 program for this and you'll get $$$ from D.C.

You are 100% correct. I already used that oil at 1,000 miles. I do not like keeping oil in a car while the engine is broke in.

I will buy two more sets of 5 quarts for futures oil changes.

Thanks for the tip. Not quite the deal others got, but my local auto zone honored the $29.99 with free filter special they advertised for the regular Mobil 1. Couldn't find a Mobil1 filter for the 2010 Prius, so picked up one for my minivan instead. Factor in the rebate and that's $4 a quart. Doesn't seem all that long ago that $4 was the normal price...
