You can argue to call conversion van or any "regular" van, "Big Van". Then calling minivan with "mini" would be OK, relatively speaking. lol

    I have a minivan - Mazda5.

But, dang, "minivans" like the Pacifica and Sienna have gotten enormous compared to how they were when they came out!

you know marketing does a good job when they convince us that there's a difference, other than a longer Hood sticking out over the front.
    Who wants mileage like this;

when you can have a longer hood ..... AND mpg's in the teens

Different ground clearance, common availability of four-wheel-drive.

Really??? Our old 2005 Sienna was huge. I think newer models are smaller, at least my son's 2014 Sienna looks smaller to me.

    Lee, you really are something.
Please stop stating things when you know nothing about what you are talking about.

Every Tesla comes with an J1772 adapter.

Yeah, like @Lee Jay said, the higher ground clearance on SUV at least on the Pathfinder I bought was the reason I went with it over Sienna AWD we used to have. Beside, there is no hybrid Sienna on market.

oh that's right, it's all about catering to the one percenter - out of all the Awd drivers that ever use/need it.
Let's not worry about what works for the 99%. It's funny that when manufacturers finally start to build SOMETHING (at least) ... everyone of the 1%ers starts to cry that it doesn't fit them. Jeez - give 'em some time. Or just jeep complaining - if that works.

Then why do they sell them in the parts shop and why have I seen people mention that they had to go buy them? Is this a new policy and they didn't used to come with them?

Not new, always have. My Tesla Model 3 delivered yesterday came with a mobile charging cable bundle came including a J-1772 adapter. I used it on one of our home Clipper Creek L2 charging stations yesterday. Works great, well built, and fit is excellent.

Bought an extra one (on order, awaiting delivery) so I can leave one adapter on one of our L2 charging stations and leave the other in the mobile charging kit in the car for use as needed on the road.

The shop even warns the customer:
This adapter is included in the Mobile Connector Bundle that comes standard with every Tesla vehicle.

Okay, well, I definitely remember reading posts by Tesla owners along the lines of, "I'm going to have to bite the bullet and buy the adapter". Maybe that was a while ago.

Oh-oh ..... more 'proof' ... reasons why plugin adoption is so sloooow.

Don't these stupid buyers realize it doesn't work for the one-percenter?

Rather than assuming what it meant, why didn't you ask rather than state your, incorrect, assumptions as fact?

I got one with my Model S in 2012 and with my Model 3 last year. You can ask Bob if he got one with his for more recent verification.

Perhaps Tesla makes them available for sale incase people want a second? Or they leave one at home if they already have a J1772 EVSE and leave it connected to that want a second for travel?
    Or perhaps they lost it.

Toyota sells floor matts, does that mean floor matts don't come with a Prius?-

May not be the best example....
Carpet Floor Mats Standard? | PriusChat

Besides.....you can drive a Prius without floor mats.

Charging is a less trivial thing for a BEV, and all of the discussion about VHS versus Betamax underscores BOTH the remaining statdards questions with BEVs and the ....ah...."lightning" quick pace of development for this vehicle type. ;)

Either way, it's still stupid to need an adapter.

The one thing I think Tesla got right was the charging system. Same connector for AC and DC, small (the remote motorized door is stupid, though). Everyone else should have adopted that and terminated the other three options.

    Adapters are annoying.

The majority of Tesla owners will meet their daily driving needs charging at home. The J1772 adapter is only needed if they have a J1772 EVSE already.

Tesla has a range of adapters for the mobile EVSE. So owners can make use higher amperage outlets the may already have. IIRC, they run for about $50, which is far less than what a third party EVSE will cost.
The Mazda5 isn't a minivan. It is smaller than the hybrid minivans Toyota sells in Japan. I think the Mazda, and Prius Alpha/+, C-max, etc are called MPVs in the rest of the world.

Do they include the RV outlet adapter with the car?

They include a NEMA 14-50 adapter, yes. All adapters for the UMC are $35 each.
