Doesn't matter what it costs if you are the front vehicle in a rear ender--the other guy pays if he is insured. As far as State Farm and your premium going up, forget about it. State Farm is a mutual company therefore, all policy holders are is a sense a united claimant.

My dw and I have been happy with State Farm for years too. My Murano was in a rear ender at a traffic light and State Farm handled all the details for me (insisted upon it actually) and I noticed no increase in rates...that said

Sadly dw and I switched all our insurance Homeowners and Auto from State Farm to AAA this year to save $2,000.00/year overall. Seems here in Florida, State Farm is really trying hard to get out of the Homeowner's insurance biz by raising rates through the roof and we get better rates bundeling our Auto with our Home.

I feel really bad for the State Farm agents (we have been with ours 25 years!) State Farm has put them through the ringer here in Florida!

Sooo here's hoping AAA is as good as State Farm for Auto Claims.

My daughter has had SF for a few years now (and a pretty bad accident in there), and is happy with them.[/QUOTE]

    Somewhere between $600-$1,000 depending.

No reason to have an alignment done after this accident, this is minor. If you're worried about it you can do one...but the insurance won't pay for it.

My Prius is back from the body shop. I was amazed at how fast they recieved the replacement parts. All of which are Toyota factory parts. Apparently a major Toyota dealer in Raleigh, NC about 50 miles from me (Henderson, NC) is a collision an major parts center for the south east. They had everything in stock. All the body shop had to due is paint the new bumper cover and all else was a direct replacement. The work is flawless and the paint match is perfect.

The following parts were replaced followed by a 4 wheel alignment.

    rear impact absorber
    rear bumper reinforcer
    bumper cover
    left hand under body spoiler
    right hand under body spoiler
    rear bumper assembly fastener kit.

Total cost with paint and labor was $ 1,869.87. The body work carries a life time warranty to me as the orginal owner.

No out of pocket for the work or rental and State Farm assures me they will persue the other parties insurance company and my rates will not be affected. :D

Very good! Glad it all worked out and I'm glad you got an alignment.
