I just moved from Fredericksburg and Stafford county VA not too long ago but no I live in Gainesville for now
daniel: go ahead and rant... even sane logical posts ruffles the feathers of someone here so dont let it bother you. as an avid bicyclist, i can attest to the piss poor driving habits of drivers of all types of vehicles. but i have had personal experience with SUV drivers who freely admit that they drive the big vehicles so they feel safer on the highway. and that is just a lifestyle choice they choose to make. me??... i rather feel safer by simply not colliding with other vehicles. ok so im different. but i cant tell you how many times i have had very close encounters with drivers who obviously felt that i as a bicyclist did not belong on the road. i have actually been hit 3 times, luckily no major injuries to me although i am on my 3rd bike. and before you give me lectures on my riding habits, let me say that every time i was hit, i was either in the crosswalk or in the bike lane. but do i have an attitude?? why should i?, people honking their horns at me because im not riding at the posted speed limits stopped bothering me years ago. its when they purposefully fade into the bike lane at stoplights in order to impede my progress that bothers me. but as long as there are humans roaming this Earth, one will have to deal with the 1% problem.
I was hit on my bike once, a soccer mom in a grey/silver Chysler minivan on a cell phone, it was a hit and run, the running happened after I got out from under the bumper
Some lovely stuff out there Batavier! I'm especially fond of the "Erector Set " style spoilers. Let's bolt a bunch of worthless sheet metal on the back and see how quick we can rust out our trunks! I'll never understand why people (and around here it is usually teenage or early 20's boys) spend MANY thousands of $$ putting what I consider junk but they consider enhancements on trashy cheap little cars. If they really have that money to spend on their ride, I think they would be better served buying a newer or better quality car in the first place. Gee, they could even SAVE the mony for something useful, like say housing and food! Help mom and dad out a bit.
Re: Turn signals This is about my favorite bumper sticker of all time -- I've had it on the back of my Civic for years: [align=center:12ea8e2a7a]I bet Jesus would have used His turn signals.
cool! i used to live there when i was a kid. i went to Stafford Jr. High and Anne E Moncure Elem. We lived just down the road from Quantico. we lived there on 3 acres of land in very rural surroundings. but i heard that my old neighborhood is all tract housing now.
wrong thread I know but I'm planning on getting an '05 assuming toyota doesn't do anything stupid like raise the price or cancel the model
actually they did raise the price... but not excessively. $300 i think. the model is otherwise pretty much unchanged except for some software updates to the numerous computers on board.
I thought I remembered it being cheaper, but I meant so much so that it would go to another price bracket
