Yes, I know. And I've had the heating duct rattle fixed. This is a different noise, from a different area of the dashboard.

I took my radio out and the antenna cable is securely connected to the back of the radio and I didn't see any sort of clip.

OK, thanks keymusic. Did you look around around inside the dash, wiggle cable bundles, try to find any loose plastic assemblies that willl vibrate? There must be something inside the dash that's rattling around causing this buzzing sound.

I have a 2017 and it's a complete rattle box. Major rattle in the top center of the dash that is getting worse to the point it's almost always there now. Major rattle in the rear hatch when going over sharp bumps. Front brakes are making a continuous clicking sound during slow stops, particularly on hills. Sound is getting more pronounced over time. This car is junk and I've decided to trade it in this weekend.

I have no idea at this point. This morning's drive into work was the final straw for me though - it's like this car is literally falling apart after a year of ownership, and I'm a very gentle driver. So disappointing with Toyota right now - one thing for sure it's my last Toyota.

My wife has a '15 Subaru Outback. The thing is rock solid after 2 years - no rattles whatsoever, and get's average around 30mpg. Not bad for all wheel drive and the versatility that car provides. I'm not thrilled with the ergonomics of seating etc, but I can live with that. I may just trade for an Outback.

That's a bit drastic. Have you considered taking it back to the dealer first for their verdict?

what is the black round thing in the center of the air vent right under the windshield ( on the inside of the car)? i feel like the rattle in my 2017 prius is coming from that.

I wonder if you mean the ambient light sensor? This detects when to dim the instrument panels when you pass through a tunnel, or as night falls. Hope that helps.

If that’s what it is, mine is partially obscured by an inspection sticker on the windshield. What purpose does it serve in a Trim Two with no auto headlights?

Not sure if you've misidentified the little dark blister the sits on the top of the fascia in the centre/center position. Even if you don't have auto lights, it will come the instrument lighting as required, automatically whenever necessary. Like when you pass under a wide bridge in daylight, or through an avenue of leafy trees and after dusk.

My dash lights only seem to dim when I turn on the headlights.

Perhaps that's another limitation on the trim 2, but if I were you, I'd have a look through the settings and see if you can adjust the panel brilliance options.

The brightness can be set separately for headlight on & headlight off. They do not vary based on ambient light.

I see. I believe I was able to adjust my panel brilliance through settings and even the HUD (which you again don't had) separately. Perhaps you need to pay more for your gas to receive these features. :sneaky:

yes, mine is coming from whatever this thing is.... 2017 prius 3 ... on the dash, in the center of the air vent by the windshield.
