Rattle clunk from front end

If it helps future visitors to this discussion, I had a similar issue which I was finally able to resolve! I had the vehicle inspected by technicians twice, who couldn't find anything loose with the suspension or steering. I poked around and found two possible sources: the plastic wheel well liners and the heat shield towards the front of the cat. Each of these items were slightly loose when I pushed on them. I placed some rubber padding between the liners, and for the heat shield I installed new fasteners. My clunk is gone. Hope this helps someone!

 

The problem with doing two things at once is not knowing which one fixed the problem.

If I was a betting man I'd wager that it was the loose heat shield rattling.
