    I'd loose the warranty, and when caught, I'd have to pay a big fine and the car would be withdrawn from the road. That's in Germany...

    In Europe, the 4 Gen has it on offer by Toyota, for a small trailer: 725 kilos and also a bike rack. So, with this regard, the PHV is a regression. Many people here do a lot of biking and use a bike rack mounted on a hitch.

    That's why I asked my French friends to do the measurements I listed.

    BTW, do you use the tonneau cover? Egon, from Priusfreunde.de, told me he very rarely does.

    Same with me,as the trunk in the Prius allways has kind of been on the flat side,but I raised the cargo floor in my gen. 3 about 6 cm. just to see how the raise of the Primes cargo floor would look in real life and while trunk space of course looked reduced,it didn't seem to be as bad as in the picture with the backpack you posted .
    Did they reduce the opening size of the hatch also ?
    Maybe there will be another drawback which comes with the increased length of the car,as i noticed that in review videos, guys not even full 6 foot tall near enough touched the ceiling,so maybe the roof slopes down slightly more than in the standard model .
    I am about 6.1 and I don't touch the ceiling in my gen. 3 when I sit in the back and i even have the solar roof which reduces headroom in comparison with the none solar roof version .
    With the solar roof in the Prime headroom might even be worse .

    Thanks Jan. Here's a comparison with my Energi. The backpack is a little smaller/shorter so I raised it to 20 inches (50.8cm) with a towel. Measurement is taken at the carrying handle not the main body.

    I can see one benefit to the raised floor. My old back won't have to bend over so far to get the groceries in or out.

    CMax Energi specs look a little like IONIQ approaching 120-ft3 total space (111-ft3 for Prime). So where does CMax put the extra ft3 over Prime?

    Well, maybe not cargo space, CMax Energi shows 19.2 ft3 cargo space vs. about 19.7 for Prime (I assume both EPA basis = about same). So it looks like CMax Energi puts the extra volume in the rear seats, whereas IONIQ seems to opt for more cargo space.

    This assumes EPA cargo space is accurate (which is questionable). Wish we had EU or UK Cargo Space for CMax Energi. But it looks like CMax is taller but narrower, so about same total cargo as Prime.

    I remember this was also told about the PiP in an early stage, but later on it turned out possible. Can anybody confirm this issue? For me not being able to take a bike with you would make the car useless, as half of my driving is with my bike to go somewhere for mountain biking (in the Dutch mountains, I mean dunes).

    And indeed, in Europe you cannot just add such a rack yourself due to several legal consequences; for example, insurance companies don't need to pay you anymore.

    Well I guess we just have to wait and see until we have a chance to see the real deal at the dealer .
    Somehow I am still keeping my fingers crossed that no one has seen the real production model up to now,exept Toyota and maybe a few other insiders .
    As I said,Toyota doesn't seem to care about the European market so much,but it definitely cares about the US market and i wouldn't put it passed them that they do take a peek here from time to time and know that people haven't exactly been jumping for joy seeing that trunk configuration.
    The launch was postponed for a reason that turned out to be that they were a little behind with producing those carbon fiber hatches,but who knowes,maybe that was not the only reason .

    I'm very interested in what is under the two flaps on the left and right side. In a screen shot from before, we were guessing the left side held a tire repair kit. No information on the right side.

    If anyone sees one in person, I'd be very interested in if there is space under one or both of those to store things.

    I'd like to see a lightweight pair of wheel chocks: the owner's manuals say to chock diagonally opposite wheel when raising the car for a flat.
