This author/vendor here is an independent company bringing us hope and something new at a fraction of the cost with better specs all across the board.

    Can you clarify this?

Would I need to charge these before using? If so will the current chargers developed for the 3rd gen Prius work?

Actually, these threads are here for everyone to comment and share their thoughts. You can disagree, you can appose, you can have your thoughts and no one has said not to share what your thoughts are. It is the manner that some people/authors of replies present themselves. If you want to disagree, do so in an adult and respectable manner. This is a discussion board and some replies are disrespectful and even down right make no sense. Agree to disagree, we are one community here and we learn together. If you have something to say, do so with some level of respect.

@tony_2018 unlike NiMH, the Lithium self-discharge is extremely low, you don't need to do anything when you receive the pack.
You will also find the benefit later on, your Prius will always have the same level of juice as last night :)

So far this Prius is about to be a brand new car. Bought it for a steal really so the amt of money I put in so far would be the same as buying a used one with 150k miles, I think.

Looked at the projectlithium website and have a few Q's:
    1. What is the kwh of the pack at each cell's max voltage limit (I'm assuming 3.65V for LiFeP04)
    2. Resistance of each module.
    3. How to rebalance modules as they age. Is a jumper wire required or can a prolong charger be used without damaging battery
I see potential with this pack. Just want to know what I'm buying.

    great technical question @mjoo

    1. kwh = nominal 16v * 6.5Ah * 14 = 1.456KWh
    2. <10 milli-ohm from Techstrem or Dr. Prius App, 1.5 milli-ohm using 1KHz AC IR measurement.
    3. Balance cable available soon, 30 bucks or you can always DIY, one copper wire connects all positive, and another connects all negative, there is no need to refresh/exercise Lithium, no more uncertainty like NiMH chemistry.

easy peasy, take the batteries out of the pack and wire all the positive posts together and then do the same thing for negative posts. They will all balance out within few days, no special equipment needed.

 too many panels and too much work. I like my HybridAutomotive harness :). Plug in and done.

Jumper harness idea #2: Daisy-chain some diodes to cap the voltages of the modules. Then use your favorite traction battery trickle charger.

see post #139, find photos of the green bars and look at the base values and unit measurement.

The Plug out looks nice but it's large for bringing along camping?

My HV battery is good but looking forward to the Prius C kit. May still use a prolong just to push the back to it's last breath.
