Questions for Prius owners

What was the most important factor in your decision to buy a Prius?
Fuel economy relating to environmental/geo-political impact. Extra room for the expanding family. It's a Toyota

Were you considering other cars besides the Prius? If so, which?
Nope. It was the Prius or status quo

Did these include hybrids? If so, what was the factor differentiating the Prius from other hybrids?
utility of hatchback, flat fold seats and interior room

What do you think your Prius ownership says about you as a person?
I'm smug (seriously, I am)

Do you perceive that, in general, hybrids have a lower total cost of ownership than conventional cars? compared to most, yes. Definitely regarding fuel consumption and most likely regarding maintenance costs as well but too early to confirm that

About how much more or less do you feel you spend, considering fuel, maintenance, etc.?
I know I spend less on gas but as noted above, maintenance has bee nil so far

Does your state have tax credits or other incentives for hybrid owners?
no but my bank offers a Hybrid loan with 4.99% APR which was a significant incentive for us

Do you live in an urban, suburban, or rural area?
suburban I guess

Do you watch the Summer Olympics? If so, is it just the opening/closing ceremonies, or do you like specific sports?
very little
