What if some days there are many gods, and, through celestial "political machinations" (as we on Earth experience and understand them: think Somalia), there is one---or no "One" is "in charge"? Isn't this also possible (if improbable)? Why would He/She/It/They think they were constrained to notify lowly critters such as us "who's the Boss" at a given time?

If we knew this were the case, might we then have to construct our edifices of worship in a more flexible, modular configuration, with shifting arrays of icons, or possibly none at all (including the numbers and sizes of the collection plates)?

 

Don't we make the choices that shape our lives and our futures? Yes... it's a comforting thought to me to think of God or the Universe on my side, but really aren't we all really in charge of our own destiny?

Depending on the degree of "resonance" of our individual/collective psyches with those of the Powers-That-Be, isn't this, if not an hilarious (or is that Hillary-ous?) illusion, but, at best, a moot point?

In other words, isn't it possible that, in a given nanosecond---or Eon---Free Will exists, but in the next we're all puppets? Is this too demoralizing and/or confusing to contemplate?
