Doesn't help too, that on a phone you don't see most of the avatar info. Unless you turn it landscape.

Seattle, WA: 50+ mpg in 75-85 degree summer. 45 (with a low of 41mpg) in 32-45 degree winter.

It's more important than ever to make sure you keep your trips as long as possible when the weather is cold if you want to maximize the efficiency of your hybrid. Travel to your furthest destination first, then work your way back.

Another tip, if you wanna be really anal, is to turn your heat on during acceleration periods and try to leave it off when you're in EV mode, when you're driving in slow traffic, around parking lots, or when you're just leaving one of your stops.

And keep your heat at the lowest setting (60F). That's comparatively balmy when it's 30F out. I keep mine on floor/defrost setting.

If you're one of those that likes to drive with the car REALLY warm, prepare to pay...

And watch those tire pressures. Jacking them way up doesn't help near as much as letting them get low hurts you. Every 10 degrees will drop you one PSI. If you let your tires get down in the low 30's, prepare to pay...

Just clocked almost 66 MPG's the other day over 13.5 miles with the temp showing 31F. It can be done.

Correct on the fuel...it has more light ends eg; butanes etc in winter fuel which has less energy content. But probably not more than 1-2 MPG loss. Just one of many reasons cold weather is a drag on MPG.

Winter fuel has about the same energy content loss as E10. So if you can find ethanol free for winter...
