I hate to say it, but sometimes, a stereotype is a stereotype for a reason...

Often times, GLBT people have higher: income levels, disposable income levels, education levels, interest in politics, interest in social issues, environmental issues, etc.

It would make sense that they would be more interested in Hybrid technology since it touches on many of the above mentioned points. All of which I would try to capitalize on if I were trying to sell a product or service. Go where the money is!

I honestly believe that gays and lesbians tend to have a more enlightened view of the world which contributes to social responsibility, which motivates people to buy Prii.

It's not a very surprising result. GLBT have fewer children on average, and children are expensive. Fewer children means more disposable income. Prius is among the more expensive cars in its class, ergo...

A study testing whether childless people are more likely to own a Prius, or conversely one determining how many children Prius owners have, would be interesting.

gays and lesbians have a more enlightened view of the world? more enlightened than whom? How can you make ridiculous, stereotypical comments like that? I know a couple of gays who are real dumbsh*ts so they must not be really gay then eh? LOL

You need to stop beating around the bush and start telling it like it is. I love it!

How about, more likely to resist popular opinion and to consider alternate solutions?

Let me speak as a gay man.......I wanted to SAVE gas money. I know, I know, that's a gay trait. LOL Seriously, when I ordered the car, I told my brother-in-law who is retired from GM that I was getting a Prius. He just grunted and changed the subject. He hasn't even looked at the car since I got it. You wonder why the American Automobile companies are in trouble. Attitudes like his. Oh, of course, he hates the fact that I'm gay too and it took him 4 years after he found out to even step into a "gay house". Oh well, he can drive his big 4 wheel huntin vehicle and pay the gas prices!

to be honest......i guess i just didnt ever look at anyone as being gay.....(except maybe those who just make it quite clear! LOL) maybe i was being naive......becuz i was surprised years later by some of my friends who were gay! did it matter? not one bit......i was raised in nashville (yes part of the bible belt) but there was/& still currently a large gay community here.... i work with a lot of people from detroit.....& they are so in to the american dream...big trucks, gun racks, & power....& i appreciate that.... however some of our dreams have to change.......we have to go in another direction ..... i do understand how it is with your family, legends.... maybe little by little they & others can change.. i still have hope
