I was able to crack the Port's communication system just now. Overheard that Pyxis Leader Captain and crew had some shore leave today in Jacksonville. They just couldn't pass up a bargain and bought 32 Chrysler PT Cruisers, bartering them for 6 new Prii's. But don't worry, the PTs will be really nice after the port options are installed. Including the Prius bumper appliques floor mats, and door sills. So if your friends don't believe it's a Prius show them the sills.
This mornings vessel tracker shows her tied up at the Jacksonville terminal dock. Not sure how out of date vessel tracker posts are, but previous reports of offloading in Florida may have been premature.
Well, rather than wait (and wait and wait) on the PriusV that I really wanted my dealer with much effort and arm twisting was able to obtain an uncommitted Blizzard White / Bisque Leather w/Nav from a shipment coming in on the ANDROMEDA LEADER so I will watch these delivery threads with anticipation. He gets 4 other Prii from this ship (all uncommitted level 2 and 3's)
At the rate it's going the Pyxis Leader should be moored and unloading cars within 2 hours! It's entering the mouth of the harbor now.
My IV w/ solar is on that ship!! My paperwork says "6/22", but the dealer didn't know if that meant port or dealer, in part b/c another car on order says "NY6/22". He assumed they were the same situation. I didn't think to look at the ship name for the other car. Apparently, there is another ship due in shortly after the Pyxis Leader that is due in NY and not Newark. Can anyone add any insight into this statement?
Pyxis Leader apparently did a fine job in Jacksonville a few days ago. One of the Prii dropped off was my red V. I was very fortunate as I did not want Nav. There was one exactly as I wanted in the initial allocation to SET. My dealer swapped with another dealer - they were surprised it got done. Per my dealer in Palm Beach, it's been through port options (only my choices, no forced...) and now in the bullpen awaiting final inspection and processing. I could have it as early as Sat, but need to get my $$ together now, so next Sat it is. Happy camper here. Getting it sooner than I expected as I was concerned there may be a summer run on hybrids as gas prices continue to rise. Good luck to all you folks up Northeast on your deliveries!
The Pyxis Leader is back on AIS and is shown nearing the port to the east of New Jersey. It is scheduled to dock today. PYXIS LEADER - 9284738 - Vessel's Details and Current Position
Hopefully by the end of the week, many of US will be getting a call from our dealers giving us some kind of date.
The Andromeda Leader is due in around 6/29, but now I am not sure if that's to the dealership or the port.
The Pyxis Leader is showing that it is now anchored/moored at the NY port!! Maybe the 6/22 was a realistic dealer delivery date after all.
Pyxis Leader is now leaving Newark!!! That means my car is somewhere on land and waiting to be delivered to ME.
Called my salesman today and he left a voice message saying that he would know more next week. He stated that the Prius IV with SR option is in short supply. I'm hoping that its not that big a deal. He did say he could trade with other dealers in the region.
My dealer has said the same thing - IV with SR is very popular and the lease produced. So I'm getting a good lesson in patience. <grumble grumble> :spider:
My dealer said that only 7% have the SR. He didn't know if that was for the IV or all models. My IV is the only one in their allotment with an SR.
That percentage seems pretty low for an option that looks to be very popular. Do you think Toyota will up the build on these to satisfy demand? Just hope that due to summer coming, most of the 7% will be supplied now versus the fall and winter months.
I sent a note to the saleslady and asked about what ship my car was on. She replied: "I believe that your Prius is going to be shipped from Georgetown Kentucky port. Then it will be transported on a transit truck to our dealership." I know there is a ship called Kentucky Highway. I know there is a Toyota plant in Georgetown, Kentucky, but it does not build Prii. I also know Georgetown, KY is almost 500 miles inland. So I don't know what port she is referring to. I doubt Toyota built a canal that long. If that were possible, Disney would have had their cruise ships pulling up to the Magic Kingdom years ago. Does this make sense to anyone else?
