Hmmm, I usually wave when I'm not on a freeway (though when I'm stuck in traffic, which is most of the time, I like to keep myself occupied by trying to spot other Prius drivers), and I almost always get at least a nod in return, usually a wave. Admittedly, though, there are almost too many Prius drivers out there now, and sometimes I find myself waving every 5 seconds. Actually, there can never be too many Prius on the road, but I'm sure the high concentration has something to do with there being fewer and fewer wavers these days.

 

Both Tuesday and Wednesday gave a thumbs up and got a response.... the first sighting Tuesday was too hot and we both had windows up with AC... so 2 outa 3 ain't bad!!!! :lol:

It all depends on where you live, because I see about 1 per week. I've waved on many occasions and only have gotten a wave back about 5 times.

 

I got a totally new one today. Some guy in a brand new Honda Hybrid was honking away at me and waving....I guess it could be that the Hybrid family will get along with each other better that non-Hybrids. Afterall the F150s don't go crazy when they see a Siverado....do they???

And I am SOOOO depressed...1100 miles between my home in Sonoma County, about 35 miles north of SF, and LA and around and about and back, and NOT ONE SINGLE WAVE. I thought I was getting one, but it turned out she musta been an alien in a Prion body, because she was only sticking her hand out to drop some garbage out her window... <_<

My kids played "Spud" on our car trips. 1 point for a VWBug (Spud), & 2 points for a VWbus (doubleSpud).
Now we'll be starting up a new generation of games.
As a 1-week-old Prius driver, I must admit that by the time I get my head away from the Console and realize that a Prius just went by, my late waves are for naught. I'll try to do better. A thumbs-up might be easier than jazz-hands. I was a Saab owner back in the early '70's and we all waved or flashed lights at each other.
PS: 155 Million gallons saved as of 20 minutes ago. Go Prius.

I'm a corvette owner and we do wave back! (Although some corvette owners only wave at other corvettes.)
We have a saying "Save the Wave" referring to the hand wave (of various positions, styles, etc).

actually, i'm on waivers.

 

Can we moon the hummers we see. No I guess not you only see them filling up with gas and thats enough punishment.

 

I try to wave if I can see the other Prius driver looking in my direction. Got a couple of waves back while driving my Driftwood. Since getting my black beauty I have only gotten one thumbs up from the driver of a classic Prius who saw me first. But I will keep trying to get waves back and driving my husband crazy with the me-seeus-a-prius game.
