One bad cell and the Prius v is back in service Car was still running I drove it straight home until I had someone look at it. Found this great mechanic $450 to replace. He's also changing my brakes never changed them in almost 4 yrs in Jan. ~Estela
Excellent job Estela13! Did the mechanic test the other cells or have any suggestions on whether a full battery replacement would be due? Haven't been on the forum in a long time so here's our v update: Guess our 2012 "v" is still just barely broken in vs. others on this thread with just 120K miles thus far... I would credit the v's drive train with being rock solid especially vs. a normal ICE vehicle... 2 issues in 5 years... The dealer actually goofed a recall flash for the ECU firmware that then caused something to break and a tow back to dealer with parts replaced (if it ain't broke, don't fix it was never truer). And recently, the rear hatch seal simply wore out and had to be replaced. So 5 years and $500 of repairs. Otherwise, just fluids at recommended intervals on a car that gets a lot of daily city use.
This is probably the head unit you need. Verify with vin at a dealers part dept. Ebay has them as low as $176 tonight. toyota 8614047020 | eBay
Hey Estela congrads. Just turned 300000 everything is good u just incouraged me to come back an post.
2 fas 4 u - You've seriously gotten 300,000 miles on your Prius v, with no mechanical trouble that required repair? (I don't count that fancy electronic gadgetry that failed, which didn't impact the car's ability to transport you reliably from point A to point B.) It'd be totally awesome if you have. I'm at 123,xxx and no mechanical trouble yet. (The "Eco" light on the dash no longer functions, one hatch hinge snapped and had to be replaced, and my wife thinks that the gearshift once lit up and no longer does... that's it. It's still as reliable as the day I got it with 17 miles.) Estela- 400,000 miles? What in the world do you do for a living? I thought I was driving a lot, putting 50,000-60,000 miles on my vehicles in a year (mostly the Prius v)... y'all have my figure easily doubled or tripled! How do you maintain your sanity, driving that much?
I transport goods Currently driving between 300-400 miles 6 days a week Pandora helps keep me sane No issues yet drive at night = no traffic ~Estela
greetings been awhile looks like this thread is closed. update 360000 Have a little situation when driving slow i noticed the other day my ev light flashed a couple of times befor turning off. normally one time and it goes on and off if i give it gas. doesnt happen all the time.
What state do you live in? That mileage is incredible, I am looking for a job like you have. They hiring?
Mileage at 462,847 as of 3 am this morning Sad to report my hybrid battery is out of commission. Awaiting on tech to come switch it out I was driving home from work in SD and the Prius was loosing power gas pedal was not working, full tank of gas. I have enough momentum to pull over safely... and the hybrid battery warning triangle comes on so I call triple A and get towed home. I am hoping it’s only the hybrid battery ~Estela
Lucky for you! Driving late at night was pretty bad after 1am in the olden days- not many FM stations were on the air that late, so we had to depend on a few high power AM stations to keep us awake. It wasn't unusual to hear a Texas or Oklahoma station in Indiana/Illinois late at night. Great for those here who like Bluegrass and Country music.
