I have one and it does test the car while it's running my car is not throwing a code and it is saying I need a sensor without throwing a code this is what it says on mine min. 6,472 max 45,014 current 65,520
No code for a mechanical only issue, regardless if a transmission damper or cv joint or other axle related issue exists. Take it first to an independent front end place and have them check the axles, probably free. The fact there are no codes eliminates most control and electrical items. I am afraid you are on the leading edge of problems compared to the rest of us. Two ideas: Find an independent mechanic that does transaxle (transmission) work on a Prius (might try calling some big Taxi companies for referrals even if out of town). Or just drive it until it really breaks. One thing that you said about the ICE starting while you are stopped makes me wonder if it's completely different like a HV battery going bad.
UPDATE: With great sorrow comes great joy. I again appreciate everybody that I have come across over the past 5 years, i really enjoyed the company. USBSEAWOLF I thank you. Almost 3 yrs with your v 369K miles awesome mine is at 187k I really appreciate your posts they are an inspiration and helpful. Do you care to share your trade in details? I was thinking of trading mine in for a regular prius but my kids love the reclining back seats on the v ~Estela
My 2011 Prius just turned 40K miles. At least for the next 3 months, I could claim my Prius has higher mileage than 2fas' brand new 2014 v3
Sold on Manheim Central Florida JTDZN3EUXC3062613 Condition Grade: 4 - CLEAN 4D WAGON II 369,530 $9,000 01/07/15 CEN FLA 4H A Blw
Someone was looking similar car for the cheapest price. Before, there wasn’t cheaper than this car on the market. I am sure that the mileage will be changed and car will be shipped out the sea in some other country where no one knows anything about the CARFAX or maybe be know but due to the price no questions will be asked. I purchased my own 12 Prius v 5 Advanced on the Manheim Milwaukee with the 166K 10 months ago for 12K, plus auction fees (350).
Good find! Since none of us know any other v with 369K miles... this V must be 2fas' old car. I wonder whether the dealer fixed the engine issue before asking and selling it for $9K?
Thanks 2 fas 4 u and all contributors (Sagebrush and others) for an enjoyable thread (I also enjoyed the prelude to this thread - "299,999+ miles" in the Gen 2 forum). There's joy, sorrow, anxiety, passion, love, hope, desire - all mixed in with life lessons on patience and financial guidance. 2 fas 4 u - may your new prius v go 1 million miles.... this is the one to take to glory should you choose to... all the best, Godzuki...
Yes, 2fas4u traded the 2012 Prius v (lowercase v for the Prius v wagon)for a 2014 Prius v ( lowercase v) in post #185. Roll on!
Hopefully Toyota bought it, in order to disassemble it to study it for future improvements. They did the same with Andrew Grant's Gen1 Prius taxi. I was looking to create 400k miles club.
Looks identical to my old 2012 Prius v ATP down to the tinted windows and mud guards. Mine only had 30k when I sold it to a friend, though. I did take it to California from WV before we finished up at his place in NM. It was a fun last hurrah with Seven.
Wow how can I not comment, on a fine thread like this. Glad to see my baby again with that price 9000 + 2500 for repairs not bad. still going strong about 20,000 on my new prius anyway. It is what it is.
