Wow, squid, I never took you for a Gilbert and Sullivan fan.

I've got a little list, I've got a little list.....
and they'd none of them be missed, they'd none of them be missed.

Wow. The PC version. Not the original Sullivan lyrics but no one uses them anymore.

    Did you notice?:

"And that Nisi Prius nuisance, who just now is rather rife,
The Judicial humorist - I've got him on the list!"

An 8-passenger vehicle makes sense if you regularly need to carry 8 passengers. Not otherwise. And an SUV makes sense if you regularly need to drive on logging roads. Not otherwise. And a Ford makes sense if someone else owns it and pays you to repair it. And from what I gather, those big SUVs are actually less safe than the best cars.

Where I went hiking in Canada the lodge takes groups of people out with guides. Groups can be 2 or 3, but are more often 6 to 12 or 14. Many of the trailheads are only accessible by logging roads. Because they are a high-class (and expensive) lodge, they want to carry their guests in comfort. So big SUVs make sense. (They use GMs, not Fords). It's one of the few circumstances when it makes sense to own an SUV: when you are the owner of such an enterprise. And by the way, I think they have to replace them about once a year, because they really do not stand up all that well to the logging roads, and it would not do to get stranded when the guests are paying as much as they charge.

Good move, not buying the behemoth, Squid.

You're probably right. Ford's lineup OUTSIDe of America is very good. The cars they sell here are just downright dreadful.

Its funny how differently people act in person face to face than on a forum.

Now thats an interesting dynamic?... why do you suppose that is?

    I can only guess.....
    1. They think we are suckers and will pay it anyway?
    2. They have alot of years of advertising invested and a loyal crowd that will buy anyway even if they produce crap?
    3. I other countries, they "have to" build better to compete?

Ha Ha!.... my imagination is running wild!.... Surely I'm wrong!... . or am I?

Last time I was in Germany, I rented Ford Montego I think. Completly different experince. It was even esthetically more desirable than any Ford made here.
