Crappy day. I needed a thread to (a) rile me up, and then (b) amuse me tremendously. Thanks for both!

I'll add that in the last 2 months my '06 has required a new 12V & traction batteries, new traction battery fan, coolant changes, transaxle fluid change, plugs, PCV, ICE coolant pump & thermostat, serpentine belt, and a couple other little things. Friggin OUCH. But you know why I'm not butt-hurt too much over it? Because this car gave 9 years and 142K absolutely trouble-free and repair-free miles before I decided I'd pushed my luck. After the traction battery failure woke me up, I got a MVCI dongle & got some Prius-learnin here on PC. Wish I'd done the traction battery myself, the rest of this work has been easy.

So even if the OP wasn't doing a good old fashioned troll, I don't buy the whining about repair expense. Welcome to the real world, ANY car can run up a huge bill if you don't use your brains and common sense.
