I picked up our Prime today - no photo yet, sorry. Travel with my first ever new car, during rush hour, from Boston, in rain! was so engrossing that I forgot until the sun set. She is really beautiful in the Titanium Glow.

A few questions: was your new Prime charged when you accepted delivery? Mine had no charge. This was not what I expected, so I asked for the PDI sheet. I was told that different dealers do it differently. Huh? I thought Toyota told them what needed to be done? They said that they never pre-charge.

Also, my "all weather" mats were on top of my cloth mats, including in the driver's footwell, so the all weather mats were not secured in the little "turn anchor thingy" - I removed the cloth mat from the anchor there, and anchored the all weather mat. I didn't mention this, as they seemed happy to point out that I "got both" (carpeted and all weather) - my concern is for people who don't know better - the driver's mat should be secured in the mat holder thing, otherwise it could jam under the pedals.

And there was a long slice in the cargo all weather mat - like someone had taken an xacto knife to open the pack that they were in, and inadvertently sliced the mat. They replaced it immediately when I pointed this out. I almost didn't look inside the hatch, as the car was backed up to the showroom "car door" as in Boston parking is at a premium. The All Weather mats had not been installed when we first looked at the car, so we hadn't seen them previously.

Overall my concerns were dealt with quickly.

Visit 1: New delivery + 2 days: strange electronic module fell on floor from under dash. Locator module left in by dealer.
Visit 2: + 7 days: Noticed that plastic on inside of hatch was crooked. Dealer broke parts trying to fix.
Visit 3: ??? — dealer will replace parts.

At least service staff are friendly. I still love my car!!

Before I pick up my car, I call and asked them explicitly to fully charge my car. But doubt if they will charge it if you have not asked.

Rebate bumped to $5000 till 06/04/2018, is something not right with the car or pure market inertia towards compacts.

East coast incentives just bumped up to 5K. I'm ready to buy it there and ship it to CA. I was wondering if there's any precautions I should take to make the transaction/shipping go smoother? Especially I can't check the car out in person? If something is wrong with the car, any local dealership should be able to fix it as long as it's under warranty, even though I don't buy it from them? Does anyone have any recommendation for shipper as well?

    Thanks!

I did not get the carpet mats--just the all weather ones. My car was partially charged--up to about 50% or so. I didn't mind since I had a 7 hour drive ahead of me. So, you got both types of mats, and a $4500 Toyota rebate (mine was $3000)? Wow--awesome!

Looks like the rebate is now $5000 in east coast (NJ/NY), but it is still same here in Southern California.

Where in CA are you if you don't mind me asking? The 5k is really enticing!

Can anyone shed light on the lowest apr offered (60 or 72 months) after taking the 4-5k incentive? As many others here are doing, seriously considering having one shipped to the pnw. In my area, they’re only offering $500 cash back

I'm in the LA area too.

I'd love to be able to order one from the east coast but last time I tried not many dealerships were willing to help. And they all wanted me to fly out there to sign papers, which killed the value. If anyone figures this out let me know, maybe we can do a group buy and get an even bigger discount haha

I'm open to discuss this with all my fellow SoCal buyers to see if we can figure this all out together: logistics, dealers, shipping, taxes, etc...

FYI you no longer can get the 1500 CA state rebate if purchased from out of state.
