one is off, but which? could it be accessories? paint, etc.? although, $29,947 looks very close to premium msrp.

Nope some thing doesn't line up with this claimed invoice price against the published invoice pricing on multiple auto sites.

MSRP $30,747 is the price of a number of different op/acc packages.

Is this 'life time powertrain warranty' transferable to another owner ?

Sure would be great if one of the dealers out west offered such

Also got the simoniz sealant warranty for 10 years for 499

I think you can ask 50 people for opinions about warranties and get at least 100 opinions.
My opinion is that these things are basically a form of insurance and I believe insurance is only for the things where the risk and exposure is pretty high. Hoping to break even is not a good bet.

With this, you need to actually have claims resulting in over $2K of cost before you even break even...I personally would have to have a legitimate fear there will be $3/4/5K (or more) of covered repairs necessary and I just haven't seen that being the case with any of the Toyota's I've owned over the years.

With these new cars, lots of electronic pieces are potentially high cost items with relatively unknown lifespans. My 2004 Prius almost had one of those events when the MFD crapped-out but thanks to forums like this I was able to repair it. But you never know.

Everyone's situation is different and you need to decide what insurance and peace-of-mind is worth to you.

Got this deal in right before year-end. Turns out that, as of 2018, CA now makes you pick either the CA state rebate *or* the HOV sticker if you're above a certain income level. Not both.

Just bought one this week. This forum was a Godsend in info. I used true car to collect bids and then let a few non true car dealers fight to match or beat it.

-Model/color - Premium // Blizzard Pearl (added illuminated door sills and all weather mats as well)
-Msrp - $30,643
-Incentives (specify if Toyota rebate or dealer markdown) - $1,000 Toyota ($1,500 CA as well, not included)
-Selling price before TTL - $28,224 ($27,500 was the matched price, then color, illuminated door sills, first aid kit were added. All weather mats were a free upgrade, but I got carpet mats as well in the car. I just love all weather mats personally)
-Out the door price (after TTL/fees, specify tax %) - $30,216.35 (8.75% tax rate)
-Dealer location - Temecula Valley toyota (price matched Toyota of Riverside who beat out LHM corona’s True Car bid by a couple hundred, but Temecula then added the extra for upgrades from quoted base rate).

That is before CA $1500 rebate and $4000 federal tax break, right? I am in Northern California and searching for best deal as I am not in a hurry. I would wait to see the cashback amount for February as every dealers here have ~70 Prius Prime in stock.

 

If you don't mind to spend that much money for just 6 years (including factory 3 years?) peace in mind, go ahead.

I cannot image, that mostly you would use it in EV mode, and break pad would last much longer, what would the warranty cover? Malfunction audio system? Broken power window motor? I assume you use it as commute car.

 

Yes the MSRP was $30,643, and they matched a quote for $27,500, but they added extra costs for paint color and door sills.

That was before the $1000 Toyota rebate, and there wasn’t a $1500 Toyota cashback incentive down here so that wasn’t applied at all. The $1000 rebate is applied after tax. And yes, this was before the CA rebate of $1500 and federal $4000 tax credit.

You might have some better luck up there if every dealer has that kind of inventory. It’s hard to say. The $27,500 price that was matched made some dealerships laugh because they couldn’t believe that someone would sell it that low. At the end of the day, my dealer laughed but matched it in order to make a deal.

 

In the San Francisco bay area, I saw a lot of Prius Prime inventory. Dealers are motivated to make a deal. $1000 dealer discount is not uncommon and sometime you may get more, as addition to the $1500 factory rebate off the MSRP.

It is weird that Toyota has $1500 cash back for Northern California only but $1000 rebate in Southern California. I don't think I can get both here...
