me too! But I bought this......
    Anker Quick Charge 3.0 42W Dual USB Car Charger, PowerDrive+ 2 for Galaxy S7 / S6 / Edge / Plus, Note 5 / 4 and PowerIQ for iPhone 7 / 6s / Plus, iPad Pro / Air 2 / mini, LG, Nexus, HTC and More

Because the charging pad doesn't keep up while on a phone call.

I never really noticed a problem charging while making a Bluetooth phone call. I usually don't have many phone calls to find out I guess.

according to the manual the maximum wattage of the charging pad is 5 watts which works out to 1 amp. My quick charger runs at 4.2 amps per port.

Unless you are on a real low charge or on a real long phone call, I think it wouldn't be an immediate problem for a long enough trip to make a difference in your charge increase. In a short trip, you won't be getting much charge anyway. In a long trip, a short call shouldn't make much of a difference either. Sorry it isn't the optimum situation for you though.

Exactly my point. Wireless charge in the prime is useless.

In a 35 minute commute, I gain about a 10% increase in charge.

Wow, that's absurd. If your phone supports QC, it makes sense to use a 12v QC charger as opposed to the wireless charger.

It is what it is in that regard. I still use it anyway for the convenience. I am usually not real low in charge when I use the car. I usually have close to a full charge in the morning going to work and charge while at work.

Would be nice if there was a way to integrate wireless quick charge on that charging pad. But seems like such a liability by modifying it.

I doubt if this is Toyota's thinking, but maybe they were looking at it as trying to have too much draw on the battery, which wouldn't be efficient for holding the Hybrid battery charge for vehicle operation. Basically, keeping the battery charge for the car and not in charging a phone. I don't know.

Yup, you're right. When I used my quick charge I noticed a reduction in EV range. I'm not sure by how much but I did notice.
