Finally closed the deal. Koons Annapolis ended up coming through. They actually had the lowest price on Truecar, and they discounted that even more. Didn't end up with first color choice (Blue Magnetism) but settled for second (Titanium Glow) since they had one on the lot with the rubber mats/cargo liner set.

    -Model/color: XLE Titanium Glow/Black
    -MSRP: $31,254 ($30,000 + $995 dest. + $259 accessories)
    -Incentives: $7,783 ($5,000 fact. rebates + $2,783 markdown)
    -Selling price before TTL: $23,471
    -Out the door price: $25,412 ($1211 tax (4.25%) + $230 title/reg.)
    -Dealer: Koons Toyota Annapolis, MD

Thanks you all so much for all the post and information. My first deal was almost $2250 more that what I ended up with and I couldn't have done it without this thread. Truecar was also extremely helpful at finding the car and the deal. I did everything remotely before going to the dealer to finalize the docs and pick up the vehicle. Whole process at the dealership was about 1 hour.

Dang guys ... you all have me thinking. I just started poking around on TrueCar and must've connected with dealers without knowing as I received quite a few calls the last couple of minutes. One dealer I talked to only had one and he knew I didn't want his and suggested I just find the one on the lot somewhere I want and deal on it because they have a tough time getting dealers to trade with them given the lack of inventory right now. He said he's also heard the rebate incentives may be going away next week from his manager. Didn't feel like a sales ploy.

I had been waiting as we don't really need a car but likely will by October 2021.

Thanks! I think we ended up paying about the same before TTL. I'm in a "tax free" state (Delaware has a 4.25% doc fee and low title and reg. fees) so I got a nice break there. I kind of wish I had the blue but I felt like I as better off just going with what they had. This is not only my first EV, it's also my first Prius and my first hybrid so I'm really excited to finally join the club.

Yes, the “Blue Magnetism” is a grabber. Makes every other color look boring and dated.

make a deal with Gladestone, OR before 5000 rebate expires.
    Prius Prime XLE, Sliver
    MSRP 31254
    Rebate: 5000
    uber rebate:750
    dealer discount: 1963
    adjusted price: 23541
    Registration: 561
    Doc:115
    Tax: 232
    OTD: 24451

Definitely not the cheapest price I can find. MD and some CA dealer offered 235xx before Uber discount.
Its just impossible to match them in OR. If I choose deliver from CA to here, that pretty much covers the price difference.
And if OR resident drive the car out of CA dealer, I need pay CA tax.
WA does not sell PP. A lot of math is going on here.

BTW, when the car is at Reverse gear, I heard very big noise from engine, sounds like it is charging the battery.
when I switch to D, that noise is gone. Is that common in PP?

    thx!

It is a safety measure. There are a lot of discussions about this, if you search. e.g., How to Disable the Reverse Beep in a Toyota Prius | It Still Runs

It is not coming from the engine. It is VPNS (Vehicle Proximity Notification System). The sound of a spaceship-like hum coming out of the speaker located in the front of the engine compartment. Since it is now mandated by law, starting on 2021 PP models, the volume of the sound is no longer adjustable and much louder than the previous models. The volume is especially louder in R.

Toyota cash rebate on 2021 PP is now extended to 6/1/2021 and increased to $5500 cashback in NewEngland Region. I have checked the Greater NY region and Southern CA region, but they seem to remain unchanged or decreased a bit? NY/NJ for $5000 ($4000 cash back + $1000 Bonus cash) and SoCA for $4500 ($4000 cash back + $500 Bonus cash) according to BuyaToyota.com

Check your region's offer by going to Toyota Cars, Trucks, SUV with your zip code on the upper right corner.

Thanks for the heads up, Salamander King. Looks like it's still a great time to buy a new Prius Prime.

I checked MD, they have $4500 cashback but no more $500 bonus cash. Still a great deal, though. Looks like New England is the way to go if you're able to make the drive or have shipped.
