Do you think the Toyota Rebate of 1k+4k will go away after May 3rd? What's your experience with previous years?

Hey folks, been lurking on this thread the last couple of days and wanted to share what I've found so far in my search for a 2021 Prime XLE.

Currently best offer I received was from Heritage Toyota and is just under $23k. I've searched in both NJ and MD and the best deals seem to be coming from MD at this point. I will be making a deal this week, just trying to see if I can crack $22k and end up OTD for around $24k (I live in Delaware and we have a ridiculously low "tax" rate of 4.25%)

Closed in on my negotiations today...Bill Kidds in Maryland wouldn't honor the Uber driver so I won't be going with them.

Got numbers back from a dealer today for 21 XLE.

    MSRP: 31,254
    Discounted to : 25,672
    Agreed on price: 24,100
    Uber Incentive discount: 750
    Documentation and title fees: $100.00
Total pricing: 23,450 before state specific taxes and dmv fees

And Yes $100 doc and title fee. I triple checked them on this.

I'll have to have work with them to finalize everything and start paperwork tomorrow. I'm having it brought to Indiana, which will cost me about $900. Once I secure the car to be held for me tomorrow morning I'll share the dealer info. They were super easy to work with so far! Here is my quote from Bill Kidds that has the XLE with door guards and all weather mats for 24,200 BEFORE an uber discount in case it can help others.

Grab bag of reasons first they aren't an Uber dealer... orand then it's not worth them waiting for such rebate to come in... its already a great deal they are giving.... sales man just had kind of an attitude the whole time I was dealing with him so I am fine moving on from them

Dude run with what you got...that's a great deal..by far the lowest I have seen in my research. Any thing around 25k otd is basically a smoking deal for an xle

I hear that! Your quote from Bill Kidds is a bit shady. What's with that MVA/reg fee? Yikes! Definitely share the dealers info once you close your deal, a $100 doc fee is the lowest I've seen. Most are $500.

I know my $24k out the door is a bit optimistic, but bear in mind that my states TTL is about $1300 so I feel I'm not that far off. It seems to me that the biggest difference is coming from all the "fees" that get tacked on at the end. I got one quote that was $180 more than the state TTL because they used a outside title company and passed the fees on to me. It's not unheard of but all those little fees add up.

Wow, that's a great price. Looks like dealer discount of $4.7K, the current $5K incentive, along with $500 doc fee (MD max), and $361 for tags/title processing (less, since you transferred tags).

I'm new here, from MD. Looking for a deal on an LE in MD. Would you mind sharing which dealer/contact you worked with?. Does the dealer still have LE's in stock? Are they a certified dealer on TrueCar? Thanks.

What would be a good target for an OTD price on an LE in MD? How much work would it take to get for $23.5K?

Bummer dude. Did they give you a reason why it's suddenly not available, or do you feel it was a bait and switch situation? What color/options are you looking for? I could give you a heads up if I see one in my searching. I'm planning on making a deal in the next day or so and driving down to pick it up later this week, so let me know if there's anything I can do while I'm down there to help you out. Maybe we could even tag team in order to negotiate a deal on two sales.

thanks for providing your updates and dealer forms, it helped me deal with dealers. Dealerships are snakes, yesterday morning I had an agreement over txt on price, in the afternoon, salesperson told me manager can't do that number after picking out the color and i insist on getting the price on paper.

What dealership was that? Do you think they reneged because of the color? I have noticed that the best deals I've received were from the dealers that had multiple vehicles of the same color on their lot, so maybe they are more likely to make a deal. Who knows, maybe they just think that you'll pay more for the color you want. Try telling them that you don't care which color you just want the best deal and see what they come up with. GL

they are snakes, i feel like that was teh bait and switch they pulled on me. Their website had 2 of the same configuration cars i was looking for, but ironically the inventory was wrong AND someone bought the one i was lookingfor within hours of me working with the sales person yesterday... hmm probably not but i'm a skeptic

Just tired of looking... Back to Bill Kidds. In process of doing deal now. XLE OTD 26,825 with complete all weather mat set and door edge guards. They wouldn't do the Uber discount, but they say they'll give me the paper work and I can apply for the rebate and get it sent directly to me. I don't believe that and won't count on it, but we'll see I suppose.
It wasn't worth the added hassle for me to try to get the Uber discount because Basil Toyota out of Buffalo NY (who sold the car I was wanting) at the same price didn't have any all weather mats so that'd been about $200, and the transport cost was about $100 more from Basil Toyota. So in the end only lost out on $450 savings....I'm not going to cry too much over that I guess.

Plus I found it very strange that every other Toyota dealer stated they would do my Indiana taxes on the new car, but Basil. They claimed I'd have to deal with that at my local DMV. I found that somewhat starnge, not a show stopper but strange vs all the other dealers.

Here is how I hope for it to play out

    XLE OTD 26,825
    + transport to Indiana 850
    - less 4502 rebate
    - less 9,000 for selling my 2014 Prius (should at least get that much)
    -------------
14,173 I'm not counting the Uber rebate being sent directly to me, I think that is a line of bull. If I get it great but I'm not counting on it. I don't LOVEEEE the deal I got compared to some others I've seen but I feel its pretty decent. I was just OVER the dealer nonsense. Sure I could have saved another 600-700 but at what cost to my time and stress level...

The Catonsville or Owings Mills location? I think mine was Catonsville but they are really close to each other. Noticed sometimes it's referred to as MileOne. I've been in contact with them but they seem slow to respond at this point. Same goes with some of the other dealerships in the area. Don't they want to sell cars?

How have you guys been communicating with the dealers? I prefer email personally, but noticed they can be slow to respond.

The dealerships typically farm out the titlework to an outside company, which is why they charge all those "non tax fees" that you saw on your quote from Bill Kidds. You'd be better off dealing with it yourself, I least that what I do here in Delaware and it's super simple and cheap. Seems people here have been doing well with Sheehy Laurel and Heritage (MileOne) in Catonsville. Not sure if they have what you are looking for but worth a look.
